GRAND OPERA HOUSE CRITICISMS WEEK OF JAN. 9th, 05. PITTSBURG, Pa. LATELL BROS.-Gymnasts. 8 minutes, full stage. We have this act on at two and eight and it goes very well. This is without a doubt the best act of the kind doing three shows. FLOYE REDLEDGE- 3 shows. Olio. Singing comedienne. This little lady dresses well and does very well in the three a day section. LINE, OTT BROS. & NICHOLSON-18 minutes in three. This we consider one of the best straight musical acts in the business. GEO. W. DAY-Monologue in black face. 15 minutes in one. Mr. Day went very big for us. this is his second appearance here and he did much better this time than during his first engagement. COLE & JOHNSON-22 minutes in three. Closes in one about five minutes. This act is too well known to need comment from us excepting to say that they went fully as strong as ever. GLINSERETTI TROUPE OF ACROBATS. 10 minutes, palace. This is among the best acts of the kind we play. SPOOK MINSTRELS- 20 minutes in one. This act shows moving pictures of a minstrel first part and carry quintette, a leader and a man to operate picture machine. The music is timed with the pictures. The people work back of the moving picture drop. They do all the talking for the end man and the interlocutor, in fact give an entire first part, lasting 20 minutes. this was a big hit with us and the quintette were compelled to take an encore in front of their drop at each performance. this act is a novelty and one which I think draws some money. CLAYTON WHITE & MARIE STUART-23 minutes in three in their sketch "Paris". This act does better for us than any sketch we play. It is unnecessary to give description of the above act as it is well known by all managers. PAULINE HALL-10 minutes in one. While Miss Hall did not go big with us she did very well and is in very good voice. BARRY & WILSON-15 minutes in one. Singing and dancing comedians. This is a very fair act for the three a day section and does very well for us at 1:45 and 7:45. OWLEY & RANDALL-Interior in three. 15 minutes. Comedy jugglers. I cannot say much in favor of this act. The comedy I consider very bad, the juggling very ordinary. WENONA & FRANK-Shooting act. 11 minutes, full stage. Wood. I consider this among the best shooting acts in the business, especially the work of Miss Wenona. John P. Harris.
