GRAND OPERA HOUSE WEEK JAN. 23d, 05. PITTSBURG, PA. BLODGETT SISTERS-12 minutes in one. Singing and dancing. I consider this act only fair among the three a day people. POTTER & HARTWELL-10 minutes in three. Interior, Acrobatic act with some head balancing. This is a fair act and does very well about eight o'clock. JENNIE YEAMANS-13 minutes in one. Miss Yeamans is not doing very well for us. MR. & MRS. JIMMY BARRY-Time of act 18 minutes. In three, interior. Closes in one five minutes. "A Skin Game" They are going very well as they always do here. CHAS. F. SEMON-Time of act 17 minutes in two, closing in one. 5 minutes. He does about the same work in his single act that he did with Falk. He is only doing fair for us. POWELLS MARIONETTES-14 minutes, full stage. Special set. I do not consider this act nearly as good as Jewells. While it does not get nearly so much money as Jewells, I would prefer to play Jewells at the advanced figure. The act is only going fair with our patrons. THE BRITTONS-In one. 12 minutes. Colored singing and dancing act. While the singing in this act is not very good, the dancing is great and they are going very big with us. I consider the act as a whole one of the best colored acts in the business. ROSS & FENTON-18 minutes. Palace. In their burlesque "Cleopatra". They are going very big with us as they have always done. The work of both Mr. Ross and Miss Fenton is the best of the kind we have ever played. ORPHEUS COMEDY FOUR-15 minutes in one. This act seems to please our audience but I cannot say that I like it. I do not consider the comedy good and the singing is not great. HERZOGS HORSES-13 minutes, full stage -garden. Mr. Herzog has six very fine black horses which make a fine appearance both on the street and stage. While there is nothing remarkable to the act it is a pretty picture and the act seems to please very much. TOM ALMOND-English novelty dancer who dances on a pedestal, also in big shoes. This act does very well for the three a day section. AD HOYT-Black face monologue in one. 14 minutes. Mr. Hoyt is suffering with a cold and does not seem to be able to do justice to his work. I think if he were in good shape that he might be a fair three a day act. CHADWICK TRIO-3 shows, 20 minutes, interior. This is not a good act. The little girl is fairly good, the mother does very little, which is not good, and the comedy of the father is very unwholesome. We were compelled to cut out four or five of his principle laughs which he said had never been cut before. J. P. Harris.
