113 GRAND OPERA HOUSE. WEEK COMMENCING 2-27-05. PITTSBURG, PA. THEO AND CAMILLE LAJESS-contortion act, 14 min., garden in three. This is a very good act for a three a day section. HARPER DESMON AND BAILEY-16 min. in one, two shows. This act should be doing three shows. Then I would consider it a good act in the three a day section. TENBROOK LAMBERT AND CO.-18 min. about three min. in one. Singing, talking, violin and piano playing. The comedy in this act is very bad. The violin and piano playing is very good. I would not care to repeat this act. MARTINI AND MAXMILLIAN-18 min. in three, close in one about four min. Burlesque Magic. This act only went fair with us and would not care to play them on return, unless they get another act. This is their third appearance here and our patrons are about tired of them. HOWARD BROS.-olio, 15 min. in one, banjo players and jugglers. I cannot say much for the straight banjo playing but the juggling is very good. The act as a whole makes good. ATHOS FAMILY-13 min. full stage, garden, acrobats and ball juggling. I consider this act one of the best of its kind in the business. This is the second appearance this season and went fully as well as on their first appearance. HERBERT KELCEY AND EFFIE SHANNON-20 min., interior in three, sketch. Journeys End in Lovers Meeting. To our great surprise this act was not a drawing card and they just about got away with the sketch. There is nothing to the act that would give either Mr. Kelcey or Miss Shannon a chance to show their ability. GRACE CAMERON-15 min. in one, singing comedian. Miss Cameron went very good with us. We consider her one of the best single acts in the business. TROVOLLO-15 min. in three, special setting, close three min. in one. This act went very big, fully as good as any act that is played. Mr. Trovollo will bear watching, as he is inclined to use very unwholesome comedy.. LLOYD'S DOGS -10 min. there is too much sameness to this act. While the dogs do very long and high jumps there is not enough to the act to entertain for ten minutes. Would not care to play it on return. GEO. H. WOOD-Monologue in one, 23 min. This act is entirely too long. If it was cut to about 8 min. it would be a very good act but Mr. Wood insists on staying on the entire time, which in my opinion murders his act. I would not want to play him again unless he would make the change I suggested. J.P. HARRIS.
