116 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, MAR. 13TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. LA VARDO & HUARD-NR-3-Man and woman, alleged comedy sketch. Very bad act for this house. Comedy is dreadful. We never want the act again. 15 min. Gar. in 3. NESSEN & NESSEN-NR-3-Two boys, club juggling and hoop rolling. Third or fourth trip here. Good little three show sight act for the money. 10 mins. Gar. in 3. LAWRENCE CRANE-AR-3-Magician. Very good little three show act for the money, although he offers nothing new. His "patter" is not bad at all--in fact, much better than the average. 16 mins. Black Art Drop in One. THE EDGERTONS-KH-3-Man and woman double swinging trapeze act. Good sight act for the money for the three show division. Work rapidly 7 min. Gar. in 4. DUDLEY & CHESLYN-KR-3-Man and woman, singing and stories, both working straight. Acceptable for this division. Second visit here. 10 mins. in one. STANLEY & BROCKMAN-YRR-2-Two men, sketch "The Count, the Piano, and the Dude." The first life that appeared on the bill, the first laugh in the show, and the act went very well. 14 mins. C.D.F. in 3. HOWARD BROS.-GHR-2-Banjo players and jugglers. Juggling is very good, but the straight banjo playing is a bit below par. Good act. 14 mins. C.D.F. in 2. Close in one. COLBY & WAY-GNH-2-Man and woman, ventriloquial act, the woman doing the automaton stunt, and billed as the dancing doll. hardly as good as Trovollo, and nowhere near as good as Reynard. However, got by with some applause at the close. 18 mins. C.D.F. in 3. JAS. HARRIGAN-YRR-2-Juggling, songs and monologue. Tramp makeup. Opened with a Uneeda Biscuit song in front of the new Uneeda Biscuit drop. Some of his work received applause, and parts of the monologue elicited laughter. Good two show act, some in the audience thought. 23 mins. Open in one. LANDSCAPE in 2. Close in one. LE ROY & CLAYTON-YHR-2-Man and woman, presenting old sketch "A Horse on Hogan." Third or fourth visit here, and second time of this sketch. A good act, full of laughs, and went very well, closing strong. 22 mins. C.D.F. in 3. CHAS. MILDARE GYH-2-"The Human Parrot." Whistler and mimic. Good act of its kind, but hardly the act for this spot, although there is nothing else to put here to break the talking. Act went quite well, some of his work receiving applause. 11 mins. in one. HERBERT KELCEY & EFFIE SHANNON-ERR-2-Presenting a sketch, entitled "Journeys End in Lovers Meeting." A really clever little love story, full of heart interest, presented by artists. Kelcey's work reminds one of Chas. Hawtrey, in his vaudeville sketch. The audience followed the dialogue closely and appeared to be intensely interested. The act will draw patronage. Very good for this house, and it would be well if we could have as artistic an offering to present every week. 20 mins. C.D.F. in 3. BIOGRAPH THE INAUGURAL PARADE. Very good. THE GENTLEMEN HIGHWAYMEN. Good.
