124 NEW YORK CRITICISM: WEEK MARCH 20th, 1905: ED. GRAY:- Monologuist. Drop in 2, can work in 1, 3 shows, 14 minutes. He has a lot of new material and went very good. Will try and give him a better place. MILDRED HANSEN:- Vocalist. Drop in 1, 3 shows, 10 minutes. This young woman has a very pleasing personality. Her voice is only fair. THE PRYORS:- Man and woman in a refined musical number. Full stage, 3 shows, 11 minutes. The woman is rather attractive and a pretty fair dancer. The act consists of banjo, mandolin and harmonica solos, with a few imitations and some dancing. It is very acceptable for an early place. WILLIAMS & SLATER:- "Real coon" singers and dancers. Drop in 1, 3 shows, 12 minutes. Always go well here. JOSEPHINE AMOROS:- Trapeze artists. Full stage, 2 shows, 14 minutes. Received applause all through the act. Opens with a song which is fairly well rendered. The assistant made a bit hit with her acrobatic work. LONEY HASKELL:- Drop in one, 2 shows, 20 minutes. This fellow has a lot of new material and did exceptionally well in this place. FOUR HUNTINGS:- Three men, one woman, Full Stage, 16 minutes. Each one received individual applause on their entrance. Presenting the sketch "A Night in the Fool House", with singing and dancing specialties. One continual laugh. SPOOK MINSTRELS: Sheet in 1, 2 shows, 25 minutes. Well known. A big novelty, although the edge is worn off, having played all over the town. Held their attention to the finish and scored big with their work in front of the drop. RYAN & RICHFIELD:- Full stage, 2 shows, 30 minutes. Presenting the Irish comedy "Mag Haggerty's Father". The act contains a lot of new business and scored one of the big laughing hits of the show. JAMES HARRIGAN:- Open in one, close in 1, 2 shows, 18 minutes, with his familiar juggling. He received a big lot of laughs through his entire act and did exceptionally well in this stiff place. Rather fakey in some places, although interesting and good photographically. NOTE:- The show is a good one from start to finish, and should prove a big winner. Spook Minstrels, Ryan & Richfield, and Peter Dailey carried off the honors, the balance of the show is good, but did not seem to go with the "Monday Regulars". S. K. HODGDON.
