127 TEMPLE THEATER. DETROIT, MICH., MARCH 20. Criticism of J. H. Finn. MARY SHAW & CO. Presenting "The Silent System." Miss Shaw is supported by Harold Cohill. This is a charming vaudeville sketch, brilliantly acted, and runs about 22 minutes. ZUTKA This alleged mystery did not come up to expectations. It is simply a new way of introducing a clever contortionist. After the matinee we instructed the manager to expose the "mystery" by having Zutka walk off the stage, as we did not wish to have the intelligence of our audience questioned. SABEL JOHNSON Miss Johnson is not singing in as good voice as she sang on the occasion of her last appearance here. Her voice is tired and she needs a rest. But there are few her equal as a vocalist in vaudeville, and she is quite a favorite here. EIGHT BEDOUIN ARABS This acrobatic act, or rather ground tumbling act, is slightly inferior to the Toonzoonin Arabas, notwithstanding there are three of the latter with the Bedouin's, among them being Prince Muly Ali, who was the star tumbler of the Toonzoonins. MR. AND MRS. JIMMY BARRY Presenting their old act "A Skin Game," and making good notwithstanding they open the show. PATTY BROS. One of the brothers, said to be the best head walker, was taken ill and the other went through with the performance. Personally I do not believe that this head jumping appeals to anybody except the degenerates in the gallery. It is shocking to those of finer sensibilities, and can only result in the mental and physical disability of the performer. GEORGE H. WOOD. Monologist Wood came to us with some new goods which he delivered in good style. The only fault that could be found with him was that he held the stage too long taking up nearly half an hour for his act. BURKE AND DEMPSEY. These two men have an act similar to the old act of Carleton and Terre. It do not consider it a good act by any manner of means and think that it should be relegated to the three-a-day section and kept there
