135 NEW YORK CRITICISM: WEEK APRIL 3rd, 1905: BIOGRAPH:- Winter Sports; Coasting in Switzerland. Very good. Wanted a Dog, (Chasing picture). Very good. OLLIE YOUNG & BROTHER:-Two young men, hoop rollers. Full stage, two shows. Very pleasing act. Not strong enough to go down any further. Entirely too much money. 9 minutes. ROSE & HATCH:- Two young women, vocalists. Drapery in 2, three shs, 11 minutes, singing operatic and some of the old song. Both pretty fair voices. Pleasing little act for an early place. RICE & HARVEY:- Blackface singers and dancers. Drop in 1, 3 shows, 16 minutes. first time here. Talking doesn't amount to much. Dancing very good. Splendid act for the 3-a-day class. MARTIN BROTHERS:- Xylophone Soloists. Drapery in 2, 3 shows, 15 minutes. Playing operatic and popular airs. Always go well here. COOK & CLINTON:- Lady Sharpshooters. Full stage, 2 shows, 15 minutes. First time here in years. The general routine of their work is the same as usual. Missed quite a number of shots. They introduce a little comedy into the act. Once every two years would be about enough to play this act. WOOD & RAY:- Man and woman, burlesque travesty. Drop in one, 3 shows, 13 minutes. Received a big lot of laughs all through. Always a good act to play any time. GREAT SCOTT;- "The Ladder King". Full stage, can work in two, 2 shows, 10 minutes. Juggles and plays musical instruments on the "Dancing Ladder". At the price an excellent act for the early 2-a-day section. RAYMOND & CAVERLY:- Two young men, German comedians. A lot of new material, new parodies, and their famous burlesque operatic dance. The biggest laughing hit of the show. Street in 1, 21 minutes, 2 shows. MILTON & DOLLY NOBLES & CO:-Presenting the comedy "In the Days of '49". This act has improved a little, quicker action, more laughs, but with all that it failed to make any impression. Positively no drawing power in this name any more. Once over the circuit with this vehicle should have been enough. 2 shows, 29 minutes. DILLON BROTHERS:- Parody singers. Street in one. 16 minutes. This spot was a little too warm for them following Raymond & Caverly. Will change places to-night. that is not saying much. The Nobles and Annie Abbott are 'passe' as drawing powers in New York. Raymond and Caverly are the one big laughing hit of the show. S.E. HODGDON.
