PHILADELPHIA SHOW, APR. 17TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. DALVINES-NH-3-Man and woman, magic set. A very good one for three shows, and the money. Could make good in a better place. 14 mins. C.D.F. in 2. Close in one. V.P. WOODWARD-HR-3-Tambourine manipulator. Spins thems with hands and feet. A good little novelty three show set. Went well. 8 mins. Pal. in 2. WOOD & RAY-GRR-3-Man and woman, well known burlesque comedy sketch. Play the circuit quite often. Now working entirely in one, but presenting the same set, with a few new jokes. Good three show set. RICE FAMILY-GRR-3- Two girls and a boy, playing violins. A very pretty and neat little three show set. Has improved. Went very well to-day with a cold, clammy, Monday audience. 13 mins. Drop in 3. Wm. H. WINDOM-GRR-2-Blackface comedian, working as "The Colored Girl. Used to work here at Corneross's. Monologue is mostly on the subject of love, kisses and marriage. All right for an 8 o'clock set. Got some laughs. 17 mins. in one. SAM KITON-YYH-2-Champion crockery smasher. Was five minutes getting started, and then went well. Strong at the close. Good set. 10 mins. Kitchen in 5. DICK LYNCH-GYH-3-Illustrated burlesque ballads. Monologue and dancing. Illustrated songs are the best thing in the set. Has not a very good delivery. His dancing is very good. All right for three show section. 18 mins. in one. MARY SHAW & CO.-HRR-2-Man and woman, sketch "The Silent System," during the course of which the man speaks not one word. Went very well this afternoon, with scattered laughs throughout. It should go well with our night audiences. 21 mins. C.D.F. in 3. PIERCE & MAIZEE-GRR-3-Man and woman. Vocalists, with the woman making several costume changes. A little dancing. Well known on the circuit. A very good three show set. 11 mins. in one. HOMER B. MASON & CO.-YHR-2-Two men and a woman, sketch "Hooked by Crook." A corking good comedy sketch. Everybody laughed, and laughed all the time. A very good act, and we'll want them again sometime. 20 mins. in one. LUCY CLARKE-YRR-2-Vocalist. was very sick to-day and only sang two songs. Good vocalist, but gets too much money for the time she does. 12 mins. in one. THREE KEATONS-GNH-2-Joe, Myra & Buster. Advance applause on their entrance. act is well known. Introduce a few new stunts. A very good knockabout comedy set. 24 mins. Full Stage. Close in one. GILLETT'S DOGS-MRR-2-A very good set, with a strong finish in which the audience participate, slapping the gas balloons to the dogs. Strong closing set. 17 mins. Full Stage. BIOGRAPH-TAPPING A BLAST FURNACE, Good real life-interesting; U. OF P. BOWL FIGHT, Good (Local); "WANTED--A DOG", Good real life comedy, running picture.
