bear repeating from one season to the other. 14 min. in one, 2 shows. Peter F. Dailey & Co. Much to my surprise he went very well indeed with this afternoon's audience. His little "by-play" was caught on to by the crowd and he got a great many laughs. There wasn't any tremendous demonstration at the finish but considerable applause and on the whole I feel confident that he is going to be worth what is payed him although I wouldn't care to repeat him and that applies to all of those big salaried acts which are only good for one trip in this house. 26 min. full stage, 2 shows. Celina Bobe. Xylophonist and violinist. Very good act but I think she is about $50.00 overpaid. 12 min. open in 2, close in one, 2 shows. Howard Truesdell & Co. In "Aunt Louisa's Advice". This act should have been Mr. & Mrs. Howard Truesdell & Co." but on Friday of last week, Mrs. Truesdell was suddenly taken with appendicitis and I gave Mr. Truesdell permission to replace her with Anna Moreland, who gave a very satisfactory performance of the part and never having seen the other no-one would realize that there had been a substitute. While the act opens a little quietly it finishes exceptionally strong and is one of the best comedy-dramatic sketches we ever played. I should certainly advise sending it over the circuit and booking it for next season while it can be had at a reasonable price. 24 min. full stage 2 shows. Empire Comedy Four. This is one of those awfully lively slap-stick quartettes which as a rule don't satisfy these audiences, but these fellows sing pretty well and sing a better grade of music than most of the others and for that reason seemed to hold the audience in good shape. with the show seventeen minutes late the audience wanted still more after having seen twenty minutes, in one, 2 shows. Three Yoscarrys. Same act they have always given us. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. Biograph. O. K.
