153 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, APR. 10TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. JONES & WALTON-3-Man and woman, rural comedy sketch. New faces, at least. They are good choosers--some stuff from Ryan & Richfield, some from Midgley & Carlisle, and some from others. Nothing objectionable in the act. All right for an opener. 20 mins. C D.F. RICH & HARVEY-AR-3-Two men, blackface singing and dancing act. They do nothing startling. All right for the price in this position. 17 min in one. BRAZIL & BRAZIL-KR-3-Boy and girl, presenting a pocket edition of Sager Midgley's "After School"--and Midgley & Carlisle are on the bill doing their "After School" sketch. Act is all right for three shows and the price. 12 mins. Landsc. in 4. CAMPBELL & CAULFIELD-KR-3-Two men, Irish comedians. Well known on the circuit. Went very well in their place on the bill to-day. Good three-show act. 15 mins. in one. MLLE. AMOROS-1/2 -YHR-2-Trapeze performer, assisted by Mlle. Charlotte, who juggles and dances. A very pretty act, and combined with the bar act, gives good value for the money. 13 mins. Gar. in 4. CHAS. KENNA-GHR-2-Physical culture exponents. A very neatly dressed and pretty act. Their work was punctuated with applause throughout. Good act. 10 mins. Spec. in 2. GEO. W. MONROE-2-Monologue. Working in the character of "My Aunt Bridget." Received advance applause. Continuous laughter throughout the act. Very good. 18 mins. in one. MR. & MRS. MILTON NOBLES-MNH-2- Presenting for the second time here a scene from western life, entitled "The Days of '49." We would not care for this same sketch for a third time without a full season's rest. Act has improved since last here, and went very well, indeed. Good act. 27 mins. Spec. in 4. PRESS ELDRIDGE-YRR-2-Monologue. Too well known for comment. He lands here every sixteen weeks--three times a year. Dates Feb. 15th, May 23rd, Nov. 14th and now April 10th. Has a bully good act, but he's working this town to death. 18 mins. in one. MIDGLEY & CARLISLE-YYH-2-Presenting "After School," the oldest of the "Sammy and Sarah" series. Philadelphians always seem to appreciate their work, and they have always gone very well here. A good act. 23 mins. Farm drop in 5. Close in one. ANNIE ABBOTT-MRR-2-This act has not been here since a year ago last February, and is therefore very welcome for a return. Got a great deal of comedy out of the act to-day. Went very well. Good act. 20 mins. Pal. in 4. EMPIRE COMEDY FOUR-YRR-2-Dutchman, actor, dude and straight makeups. For this house not as good as Empire City Quartette, although they went very well this afternoon--but they are rough. Good act. 18 mins. in one TONY WILSON & MLLE. HELOISE--1/2 YHR-2-A sister of Mlle. Amoros, doing a double horizontal bar act, using the bounding net. A very good act. 9 mins. Gar. in 4.
