155 CRITICISM: NEW YORK SHOW; Week April 10th, 1905. BENNETT & RICH:- Two men, talking and singing German comedy. Nothing sensational. Merely a pleasing little act for an early place. Drop in one, 3 shows, 16 minutes. JNO. S. RONNEY:- Monologuist. Makes fair appearance. Has good material, but don't know how to deliver it. Received a few laughs in spots. Will change him to open the show. Drop in one, 3 shows, 13 minutes. CALLAHAN & MACK:- Presenting their Irish Classic Bit "In the Old Neighborhood." Went exceptionally well, considering they play here three times a year. Compelled to bury this act on account of the so much of the two show a day material. Full stage Two shows, 20 minutes. PIERCE & MAIZEE:- Man and Woman, singing and dancing. With custums [costume] changes. Very well accepted. Pleasing act for the three show a day section. JEWELL'S MANIKINS:- With automatic actors. Best we ever had. Strongly applauded throughout, and took three curtain calls at the finish. Full stage. Two shows. 23 minutes. LUCEY CLARKE:- The Irish Contralto. Pleasing personality. Elegantly gowned. Great voice when big. Drop in one. Two shows. 23 minutes. BERT COOTE & CO:- Two men and a woman in a comedy entitled, "A Lamb on Wall Street." First appearance for Bert Coote here in four years. Really a new face. Excellent support. MAYME REMINGTON & Her Black Buster Browns: Greatly improved, with scenery, custumes [costumes], etc. When [Went] very big. One of the hits of the show. 13 minutes. Street in one. MARY SHAW & CO:- Presenting the sketch entitled, "The Silent System." First time here. Rather a one woman affair. Man has no speaking part, merely a pantomime. This sketch appeals to the lady audience. Had some very few scattered laughs. Full stage. 20 minutes. Two shows. -1-
