156 Blind Tom, 2 shows, 21 min. full stage -- Negro pianist; first time here. Got a warm reception and all his selections were appreciatively encored, his delicacy of touch being wonderful. If anything will draw business here this week, his name should prove the lodestone. Charles Kenna, 2 shows, 18 min. in 1 -- In his specialty, "The Fakir." Did not go so strong as during previous engagements, principally from the fact, I think, that he has made no changes whatever in his material. He is not one of the kind of entertainers who stand for quick repetition; once a year is amply sufficient for him. Dida, 2 shows, 9 min. full stage -- Easily the best illusion, as it is the simplest, that has ever been put on here. Made a big hit and will draw business if anything can. Nora Bayes, 2 shows, 15 min. in 1 -- Vocal comedienne and one of the most popular that plays this theatre. got a big advance reception and all her songs were encored. When she sails away, it will be a distinct loss to the varieties. Bedini and Arthur, 2 shows, 18 min. full stage -- The screaming hit of the show; indeed, one would think the way people howled that they have never seen the act before. The burlesque on "Dida" fairly convulsed the audience. Belleclaire Brothers, 2 shows, 12 min. full stage -- Acrobats and hand balancers of magnificent physical development, who open their turn with a muscular display in a cabinet a la Sandow. Big applause hit all the way through. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1 -- Showing the following list of motion pictures: 1. Elephant Traction Engine. Very interesting. 2. Golden the Magician. Not of any particular value; poor by comparison with French pictures of a similar nature. 3. The Gap of Dunloe, Ireland. Interesting. 4. A Mischievous Midget. Mildly amusing; British Humor that never appeals strongly to American audiences. 5. A Gigantic Achievement. Extremely interesting and instructive. 6. Crow Indian Dance. A sort of motion picture time-filler of interest to only a few people. Kreisel's Dogs, Monkeys and Cats, 3 shows, 15 min. full stage -- This act is simply on for the children whom we may get in after school hours. It is a nice little act that easily passes muster in the 3-show section.
