158 GRAND OPERA HOUSE APRIL 10th, 05. PITTSBURG, PA. CONLIN & HASTINGS-3 shows, 15 minutes in one. Singing and talking act. Just about gets away in the three a day section. ALF HOLT-Mimic. 12 minutes in one. 3 shows. Mr. Holt did not do well for us. FOUR MADCAPS- Garden. 10 minutes, full stage. Novelty acrobatic dancer. This is surely a great act-one that makes good during the entire time they are on the stage. JULIAS TANNEN-Impersonation of footlight celebrities. 14 minutes. Mr. Tannen did very well for us considering the hard place had on the bill-following McIntyre & Heath. We were compelled to cut out his monologue on account of his place on the bill. SMIRL & KESSNER-17 minutes, Interior-three. Close in one about five minutes. This is a comedy acrobatic act which did very well for us. The comedy of the female member of the team is very coarse and, I think, hurts the act. FRANK & JEN LATONA-Comedy musical and singing act. 21 minutes-open full stage, close in one about 7 minutes. Miss Latona's singing was the hit of the act. She is one of the cleverest in this line that we have ever played. The act as a whole is very big and I feel sure that on a return they would draw some money. I consider it one of the best acts in the business. THE GREAT BUCKNER-Sensational Cycle Marvel-16 minutes, full stage, close in one about 5 minutes. While this is a pleasing act I do not consider it great and the act would be much improved if Mr. Buckner's attempted comedy was cut out. We had him do so here. His stage setting is very fine. MCINTYRE & HEATH-Georgia Minstrels. 38 minutes. Just as big a hit as ever. CLARICE VANCE-12 minutes in one. Coon singer. Miss Vance went very well with us-fully as good as ever. SPASSARDY'S BEARS AND PONIES. This is a very good act and please our patrons very much. KINETOGRAPH-The principal picture this week-The Battle of Mukden", which is only fair. John P. Harris.
