174 GRAND OPERA HOUSE MAY 8th, 1905. PITTSBURG, PA. JONES & WALTON-3 shows. Time of act 22 minutes. Interior, full stage. Rural sketch introducing violin playing and dancing. This is only a fair act in the three a day section. MAJESTIC TRIO-Time of act 14 minutes in one. Three colored people, two men and a woman in singing, dancing and talking. I do not consider this a good act. It will just about do in the three a day section. COOK & CLINTON-Time of act 15 minutes-wood. Full stage. This act is very well dressed and the shooting is very good. I consider it a good act. AL LAWRENCE-Monologue and imitations. 3 shows. Time of act 15 minutes. Olio in one. Mr. Lawrence is not going very well with us. I consider his only a fair act. Possibly a little better than the average three a day. ZAZELL & VERNON-Time of act 15 minutes. Close in one about 5 minutes. As "The Tourist and Valet" in a comedy acrobatic pantomime "The Elopement". While this act seems to go, I cannot say that I like it as well as their old act. MURPHY-NICHOLS & Co. in "From Zaza to Uncle Tom" Open in one 6 minutes, then to full stage. Time of act 28 minutes. This act is going fully as big as during their first engagement here. It is too well known to need criticism. LUCY CLARKE-The Irish Contralto. Time of act 12 minutes in one. Miss Clarke is going very well with us. WOODLAND NYMPHS introducing the Rooney Sisters and ten young ladies. Singing and dancing. Special scenery. This act is going very good with us. It is a very neat act and the girls all work together. It is more than making good for us and aside from the scenery, which is not good, I think it one of the best girl acts in the business. HOWARD & NORTH-Time of act 25 minutes in one. Monologue. This is the second appearance of this act in three months and I think they are going better now than during their first engagement. Their act is surely away from all other talking acts and deserves success. ADGIE AND HER LIONS. Time of act 15 minutes. Full stage, wood. this act is too well known to need criticism. She is going about the same as usual. FERRELL BROS-Comedy bicycle riders. 3 shows. 14 minutes. This is a good act, about as good as any we have had in the three show section. THE HOLDSWORTHS-Singing, dancing and banjo playing. Time of act 15 minutes. 3 shows. This act just about gets away in the three a day section. John P. Harris.
