196 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, JUNE 19TH'05 H. A. DANIELS. LEO CARRILLO-HR-3-Mimic. Barnyard animals, birds and beasts. Also impersonates a Chinaman. Quite a good little three-show act. 8 mins. in one. ST. JOHN & LE FEVRE-NH-3-Boy and girl; singing , dancing and imitations. They do nothing unusual, but for the price and three shows, all right. Dancing is the best thing in the act. 13 mins. in one. GILDAY & FOX-NH-3-Two men, "Jew Trainer and the Jockey." A racetrack dialogue. This act would make an awful hit at Henderson's, Coney Island. Attempt a little singing. No real harm for the early bill. 11 mins. Special drop in onw. STONE & LIND-NH-3-Two men, one working as comedian. Club juggling act. Good little three show sight act for the early bill. Comedian attempts a little hoop rolling that is crude. 10 mins. Gar. in 4. SUSIE FISHER-NH-3-Female baritone. Received the first sincere applause this afternoon. A very good three show act. 13 mins. in one. THE BOYLANS-GHR-2-Mother and two children (boy and girl) offering a little sketch, entitled "Jack and Jill." A great deal of the pathos could well be eliminated. Children are clever little actors and very clever acrobats. The sketch is worth just about what it is getting here and can make good for that price. 22 mins. Fancy in 3. LOUIS WESLEY-YRR-2-Singing and dancing act. Also attempts a little eccentric comedy. About GRR is his limit for this house. He received some laughs and a little applause in spots, but not YRR worth. 12 mins. in one. BELLE HATHAWAY'S MONKEYS & BABOONS-GHR-2-Ten monkeys and baboons. A neatly dressed, well worked animal act. Made quite a hit this afternoon. A great act for the children. 12 mins. Gar. in 4. SEARL & VIOLET ALLEN-GHR-2-Man and woman, comedy dialogue "The Sign Painter." Well known on the circuit. Always goes very well in this house, for it's away from the beaten path. 16 mins. in one. FRANK KEENAN & CO.-MHR-2-Sketch "At the Threshold." Mr. Keenan, a man and a woman. Rather a dramatic offering, but the best act Mr. Keenan has ever presented in vaudeville. Rather serious for a hot day, but the act held the closest attention, and every line proved interesting. A very good act. Cut out: "Damn generous." 12 mins. Fancy in 3. HOWARD & NORTH-YRR-2-Two men, talking act "Those Happy Days." A very good act--somewhat out of the ordinary. The dialogue is clever and bright and the audience seemed immensely pleased. However, the act is drawn out a bit too long, and the start is much livelier than the finish. 23 mins. Special drop in one.
