211 New York Criticism July 17, 1905. Sid Baxter Assisted by Beatrice Southwick, who makes a very attractive appearance. Baxter is a slack wire artist and juggler, his strong hold being bicycling riding on the wire. The number if excellent as a sight act for the three show section. Eleven minutes, full stage, three shows. Acker and Gilday Two men, talking, singing and burlesque acting. Their talking is very ancient, singing good, with the burlesque acting a new addition. The act is improved since last here. Fourteen minutes in one, three shows. Delton Brothers Comedy gymnasts. Excellent act for an early place. Received some applause on the finish. Eleven minutes in one. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Hayman In the comedy "The New Stenographer" The woman in this act makes a very good appearance, the laughs are scattered and for an early place the act is alright. Sixteen minutes full stage, three shows. Chalk Saunders Crayon Artist. This man received a big lot of laughs on his cartoon work. Strongly applauded on the finish. Eight minutes in two, three shows. La Petite Adelaide "The Dainty Dancing Wonder" Very attractive young lady, magnificent costumes and a good toe-dancer. Opens the act in one with a song, her voice does'nt amount too much, the dancing being the strong hold. Opens in one, about two minutes, entire act ten minutes, two shows. Ray L. Royce Character sketches. First time in four years. While this man's material is old, the act went as if it was new in vaudeville. Each impersonation was strongly applauded. Fifteen minutes in one, two shows. Williams and Walker Glee Club Fifteen colored vocalists. Great vocal number. Greatly improved since the trial shows. monster applause throughout the entire act. Had this act down for 27 minutes, they only do sixteen minutes. Full stage with about three minutes in one, two shows. ....The burlesque on "Dida" did not go, will take it out as we would prefer to have them close in one. Seventeen minutes, full stage, two shows. Donahue and Nichols Man and Woman, eccentric dancers, with a little singing. They are clever dancers and hard workers, but they failed to make good in this spot, just a little too hard running down here for them. Twelve minutes, full stage, close in one about two minutes, two shows. Four Livingstons One man and three women. Acrobats. Hard workers, full of live, good act, strongly applauded. Full stage, two shows. Kinetograph Showing two films:- Hippodrome races at Dreamland Good add- for Dreamland, but interesting excellent photographically. Raffles the Dog Comedy chasing picture, good, full of laughs.
