[strikethrough: 215] 219 Criticism Keith's New York July 31st,19o5. MARTIN & RIDGWAY Man and Woman, eccentric comedy. Very much on the "burlesque"order. Have cut a lot of their objectionable material. Not a bad act, received some big laughs in spots. Alright for an opener. Fourteen minutes in one, three shows. HEDRIX & PRESCOTT Man and woman, singing and dancing. Singing don't amoun to much. Scored big on their dancing. Good three show act. Eleven minutes in one, three shows. VONTELLO & NINA Man and woman on the flying rings. Pleasing appearance very graceful. All their work was strongly applauded Good three show act. Nine minutes full stage, three show DEL-A-PHONE Mimic and Whistler. Excellent act for an early place. Greatly appreciated throughout. nine minutes in one, three shows. BURKE'S DOGS Weakest dog act we had for some time. No life in the act Received some laughs and a little applause for the musical end of it. Fifteen minutes, full stage, two shows. Young American Five- Four Boys and a girl, singing and dancing. Pretty fair singers, excellent dancers. Quick workers, full of life Good at for the money. Eleven minutes in one, three shows. THE TOBINS Two young women, straight musical act. Rather refined, pleasing personality. Excellent musicians, big applause on the finish. Thirteen minutes, close in one, about three minutes, two shows. KENNEDY & ROONEY In the comedy "The Happy Medium" No plot to the comedy, full of good bright lines, funny situations, singing and their strong hold "dancing" Big laughs throughout the the act. Twenty-one minutes, full stage, can close in one, two shows. QUINLAN & MACK "Minstrel Comedians" The house laughed at this at as if they were new faces .They have some new material and held down this spot in good shape. Seventeen minutes in one, two shows. THE SWISS EXPRESS" John F. Byrne's pantomimic production in three scenes Scene 1 shows the departure of the Bridal party to take the Swiss Express, which opens rather tame, no life, nee more rehearsal. Scene 2 Street leading to the Station, used more to set the stage. contains some business with drunken man, Policeman & etc. Scene 3- Sleeping car, en route. This is the only part of the pantomine that amounts to anything. The business is good, quick action, funny situations & etc.. The act closes with an explosio showing the engine blown up, cars smashed and etc.
