221 Boston Show, Week of July 31, 1905 (F. J. O'Connor) Fadette Orchestra, 2 shows, 60 min. full stage--Entire change of selections, the most appreciated being the solo by Mrs. Wilezek, Every selection was enthusiastically encored. World Comedy Four, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1--Four men, two in eccentric makeup, in vocal, comedy and eccentric dancing. it is a good act from any standpoint and won considerable applause. Maud Harrison, 2 shows, 23 min. full stage--Assisted by John Dean and L. J. Sherman, in the comedy sketch, "Lady Across the Hall" I was led to beliee that with the new man the piece would be "all right" With the big audience we had here, if there was any merit in the piece whatever it would have at least got by today, but instead it fell flat, although I will say it scored a few scattering laughs. I would not care to see it here any time again . It goes on at 7 o'clock. John World and Mindell Kingston, 2 shows, 26 min .open in 1, goes to 3, close in 1--Eccentric comedian and comic opera soubrette. World as a tramp is excellent and the vocalism of miss Kingston was thoroughly appreciated. Went off to a tremendous applause at the finish. The Nevarros, 2 shows, 8 min. full stage--Two men and a woman, in acrobatic and equilibristic feats. As always with this sort of work in this house, it went big, everyone of their feats beign heartily applauded. La Petite Adelaide, 2 shows, 9 min. open in 1, close full stage--Well-known on the circuit. A graceful and clever toe dancer who filled this spot in the bill quite acceptably. Williams and Walker Glee Club, 2 shows, 19 min. open full stage, close in 1--Second week for this organization. Received some advance applause, and they went just as big as last week, every selection beign strongly encored. Guyer and O'Neil, 2 shows, 24 min full stage--In singing and dancing specialties. Well-known on the circuit. While I think it would improve the act to cut a little out of the first of it, it was the scream of the show. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min in 1--Showing the following list of pictures: 1. Raffles the Dog. Almost as big a laughing hit as any set on the bill. They simply howled. Will hold it over for another week. 2. Hippodrome Races. Quite an interesting picture. 3. The Finish of Hooligan. Fair comedy picture. [[a sheet of paper underneath shows below that transcribed above]] I can only reiterate what i have said on former occasions "that 'legitimate' actors should never be booked without the vehicle". Their names are no sufficient to draw and they must "make good" or go down the bill to the detriment of the whole show.
