223 (F. J. O'Connor) Boston Show, Week of August 7, 1905 Fadettes, 2 shows, 60 min. full stage-- Usual change of selections and no apparent dimunition in interest. Barrett Brothers, 3 shows, 2 in. in 1--Irish comedians and dancers. Neither their talk or vocalism amount to much and their dancing is only fair. Just about the average 3-a-day set, of which the dancing is the better part. Galletti's Dogs and Monkeys, 2 shows, 15 min. full stage-- This is one of the most interesting and amusing of the animal sets w play. Lau had at all through and liberally applauded at the finish. Mignonette Kokin, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1-Quite a pretty and prettily costumed young woman in some vocal imitations and dancing. She does not do the act she formerly did here and although her work was rather slow today, she was the recipient of a good hand from when we take into consideration the fact that the oppressive weather probably affected the performer and audience alike. Dixon, Bowers and Dixon, 2 shows, 16 min. open full stage, close in --"Three rubes", ", eccentric and acrobatic comedians. While I don't see much to this act it drew a few titters of laughter and their close in one, which is an imitation of a ball game, was fairly well applauded. This act should go in a month earlier position than they had today, but it will be impossible for me to give it. Olive May and John Albaugh, Jr., 2 shows, 21 min. full stage--Been commented on in the other houses. if any criticsm were to be made by me it would be that Mr. Albaugh acts like a decided amatuer and with good man in his position it would make an excellent vehicle. It secured a very good hand, in fact, I might say this best hand that has been accorded any sketch for some time here. Dan Quinlan and keller Much, 2 shows, 15 min. in 1--Well-known black and white face comedians. Practically the same lot of material as on their last visit, but never theless they were the laughing hit of the show. Cut their reference to "fleas". Avon Comedy Four, 2 shows, 16 min. open full stage, close in 1--In their laughable sketch, "The New Teacher". I wa lead to believe theese men were to open in one, but thismorning they strenuously declared it impossible and after seeing their vehicle it appears to me that it woudl injure it to force the to do so. The sketch is not entitled to this position by any means, and for tomorrow we will gie it an earlier and easier place. Vontello and Nina, 3 shows, 10 min. full stage--Been commented on in the other houses. Just about an ordinary 3-a-day "sight" act
