234 PHILADELPHIA SHOW. AUG. 28 1905. (2) 234 H. T. JORDAN. MAY DURYEA & W.A.MORTIMER--2-In the one act comedy, entitled, "The Impostor." First time in two years for this sketch. Mortimer plays the part formerly played by John Kearney, and plays it fully as well. The farce is full of action, bright lines, and clever situations, while both people are artistic in their work. Aroused incessent laughter and received a strong had at the finish. Mighty good act. 23 mins. C.D.F.3. SALLIE STEMBLER -2-Singing comedienne. Miss Stembler is well known on the circuit, and is always a valuable act in one, for this house. She varied her act this time by singing her first number in country make up, then changing to evening dress. Good act. 16 mins. in 1. GALLAGHER & BARRETT-2-Two men in Irish talk, finishing with burlesque grand opera singing. These people have good material and deliver it well, and though it is all nonsense, it got the laughs. See no reason why this act could not be done in one just as well as in three, which would make it much more valuable. 18 mins. C.D.F. in 3. MELANI TRIO -2-Three men, Italian street musicians. One of the best singing acts that we play, and for our audience, fully as good as The Three Dumonds. Received first advance applause of the day, showing that they were well remembered for their last visit, and each song was received with sincere applause. Good act. 18 mins. in 1. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. AUG. 28 1905. (3) H.T. JORDAN. DEWITT,BURNS & TORRENCE-(con) The idea is novel and well worked out. The acrobatic work is good and the comedy introduced clever. Mighty good closing act. 14 mins. Spec. in 3. KINETOGRAPH:- 1. THE GREAT STEEPLECHASE. This is a French film, showing the crowds at the "Grand Prix," the race and so forth. Good picture. 2. HOOLIGAN AND THE STEAM ROLLER. Fair comedy picture. 3. THE BODY OF PAUL JONES IN PARIS. In view of all that has been in the papers lately regarding the body of Paul Jones, this picture is very timely. Photographically it is good and pleased. 4. THE RUBE AND THE KINETOGRAPH. Fair comedy picture. 5. MYSTIC SHRINERS AT CONEY ISLAND. This is a good picture for us as it is full of action. As there are many Mystic Shriners among our patrons, the picture makes quite a hit.
