Callahan and Mack, 2 shows, 20 min. full stage--In the Irish comedy sketch, "The Old Neighborhood". Got quite an advance reception, and although the sketch has been seen here time after time, it went very well today, closing strong. Kinetograph, I put the motion picture of the San Francisco disaster on, which we received on Monday of last week, but held it over. It went very well, and filled in time to set acts satisfactorily. John Hyams and Leila McIntyre, 2 shows, 25 min. full stage--In the comedy sketch, "Two Hundred Wives". Has been commented upon previously. Got, quite an advance hand. The sketch is practically without plot; only serves the purpose to introduce some clever specialties and imitations by Miss McIntyre and Hyams. Made a big impression on our audience today, and it can be considered an excellent act for this house. Cut "Lydia Pinkham". Leona Thurber and Blackbirds, 2 shows, 12 min. in 1--This woman has pour pickanninies with her, and although the act was a little slow in working up, it got them toward the finish and closed to good applause. Her picks are not quite as clever as Remingtons', but the difference would hardly be perceptible to the audience. Salerno, 2 shows, 18 min. full stage--Well-known juggler. I believe this man went even better than on his first appearance here. All of his work went with applause today, and he got a big hand at the close. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 2. A Winter Straw Ride. Comedy film that went with screams of laughter. 3. A Tour of Italy. Very good descriptive film which is spoiled by a fake eruption of Vesuvius at the end. Films of the latter variety are especially interesting to our audience if we have comedy films with them to offset the listlessness of some of our patrons, as we were able to do very well today. Klein & Klein, 3 shows, 13 min. in 3--Two men, both in eccentric makeup, juggling small articles. Has been described in other houses. Went quite well in this awfully poor spot on the bill. Good act from the 3-a-day standpoint. Lillian Maynard, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--"Vocal comedienne". I don't know where the comedy comes in, as she is simply a "straight" singer, and only fair one at that. Passes as a filler here. Gaylor and Graff, 3 shows, 13 min. in 3--Man and woman, man in eccentric makeup and the woman working straight, in comedy skit with vocal specialties. At the very best, these people can only be fillers, and not much at that. Comment:- The show is an excellent one to judge by the enthusiasm and pleased countenances of the audience as they passed out, and evidently gave great satisfaction. From a critical standpoint, the show contains too much singing, good bad and indifferent qualities. With a perfect out of doors day, we have a fairly good audience and will no doubt do an excellent business tonight.
