24 New York Criticism--May 28th, 1906. FRANCIS WOOD: Hoop Roller. Got by with very little applause on his finish, but the act is alright for an opened. 10 min.-full stage HARRY EVANS: Boy Baritone. Makes a very pleasing appearance. Has quite a good voice. Sang three songs and each one was strongly applauded. 10 min. in one- 3 shows MORTON & DIAMOND: In an Irish Character Comedy: Received some few laughs, Morton's dancing going very strong. Act pleased immensely and they closed big. 12 min.-full stage- 3 shows WILLIE & EDITH HART: Very neat little singing and dancing act. Singing does not amount to anything, dancing being their stronghold, the edge of which was taken off by Morton, but they held this place down in fairly good shape. 10 min. in one- 3 shows NIBLO & RILEY: This act was the applause hit of the show up to this time. Secured quite a number of laughs. The Jury howled at the particular dancing of Riley. Elegant three-show act. 13 min:-full stage closed in one about 2 min. FLOOD BROS. & CO: Comedy Acrobats. One working straight and the other eccentric with an assistant. This is a quick knock-about acrobatic comedy, full of good business and funny situations. Continual laughter throughout. Easily the applause hit of the show. 10 min.-full stage. MISSES DELMORE: This act held the stage to-day twenty-two minutes, as we needed the time, which is entirely too long. Both their instrumental and vocal work went very strong. Finished to big applause. BROCKMAN, MACK & BELMONT: In their musical comedy:-"The Count on Mother's Account." (The revised edition of Monroe, Mack & Lawrence act) Vocal work was very well received. Secured quite a number of goof strong laughs. 19 min EMMA CARUS; Received a big lot of advance applause. Seems a lot of money to pay this woman for her work. Don't believe she'll draw a penny. Sung four songs and each one was well received, although she did not go as strong as I contemplated. 16 min. in one Leroy & WOODFORD: Compelled to use this act here on account of the show being short and to my surprise made a tremendous hit. They have a lot of new and bright material and kept the audience in continual laughter. 18 min. in one-2 KINETOGRAPH: "San Francisco before the Earthquake." Very long and monotonous "Love vs. Title." Another eloping film, although a little novel and managed to secure some laughs.
