28. Temple Theater, Detroit, Mich., [Michigan] May 28. The Juggling Mathieus, man and woman, present a little juggling act that does very well to open. 10 min. F. S. Can close in one. John and Bertha Gleeson and Fred Houlihan in the same old dancing and piano-playing act do very well in this spot. They have added a pretty song to close. 14 min. F. S. 2 min. in one. Cook and Madison, formerly Smith and Cook, present the same act given by Smith and Cook. The comedy is just the kind that would please a summer audience. 16 min. F. S. Could close in one of necessary. Grace Cameron went as strong as on her first appearance a year ago. She has added a recitation and a baby song to her act neither of which improves it. Her hits were "Lolita," and "Little Holly Dimples." 15 min. in one. Zazell and Vernon company present a very good comedy pantomime act and were one of the hits of the bill. 15 min. F. S. 5 min. in one. Virginia Earl and her "Johnnies" proved to be an excellent act in every particular. The song numbers were very good, the men well dressed and the comedy clean and refreshing. In fact the act could hardly be improved upon. 27 min. F. S. Ray L. Royce presented the same act that he has been giving us for several seasons past and while his character sketches are great I am of the opinion that his usefulness for this theater at least is over. 15 min. in one. Tony Wilson, Heloise and the Amoros sisters by trying to combine the two acts have made a jumble of it. They open full stage with the bars, go to one with a song, go back to full stage for the trapeze. When the drop comes down for the song many people leave expecting the pictures next. 23 min.
