38 New York Criticism--June 11th, 1906 LAURIE ORDWAY: English Comedienne. This young woman did fairly well considering that she sang three songs, but does each one in a different character. Alright for an early place. 15 min. in one-3 GEO & LIBBY DUPREE: Billed in their "refined" German comedy:-"A Mixed Affair." It is far from being refined. It is rough talking and no merit. Woman looks nice, but has no voice and cannot sing. The man just manages to get by for his comedy end. The only part of the act just manages to get by for his comedy end. The only part of the act that brought a laugh was the man's parodies and they were suggestive. 19 min.-full stage-3 shows LEONARD KANE: The Dancing Adonis. It was quite a relief to get this man on after a long tiresome act of the Duprees. He was applauded throughout for his work. Good three-show act. 10 min. in one McNAMEE: Clay Modeler. All of this man's work was watched with great interest. Secured quite a number of laughs for the humorous subjects. Closed to big applause. 9 min. in one- 3 shows. TOM MOORE: Singer of Coon songs. Was rather easy going for this man here. Got them on the start-off. All of his work pleased immensely. Excellent three-show act. 10 min. in one THE ZANAROS: Comedy and Trick Bicyclists. The audience did not seem to enthuse over the comedy end. The trick riding was very good. 10 min full stage- 3 shows AL CARLETON "The Skinny Guy". This man had them laughing before he said a word. The physical shape of the fellow amused and he gets an immense lot of material from that. Did excellent in this place and he was easily the laughing hit of the show up to this time.. 17 min in one- FERREROS HUMAN ORCHESTRA: The instruments used in this act are quite novel, although the man did not receive any applause for his work until the dog made its appearance. The dog is immense. Seems almost human. Act closed to tremendous applause. 12 min. full stage- 2 shows GRACE CAMERON: Big advance applause. Scored immensely in all her selections. 16 min in one MR. & MRS PERKINS FISHER: In their rural sketch:-"The Half-Way House" Well known. Strange how this act holds on. They certainly got the laughs to-day. 20 min.-full stage RADO & BERTMAN: In their comedy sketch-"The New Girl." Well known. Woman is excess baggage. Just about gets by. Man received a big lot of applause for his contortion work. Good three-show act. Compelled to add this number in place of Geo & Libby Dupree. 16 min.-full-st-
