39 JUNE 18, 1906. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C. E. BARNS. HARRY EVANS, Boy Vocalist, Protege of J.D. Rockefeller:-. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows. Little boy with a phenomenal voice. Gave three songs, each of which got a good hand. Undoubtedly will deelop into something of far greater importance. Can hold a better place on the bill, and will be put down there. (7.53). ED. ESTUS, Equilibrist:- 9 min. in 2. 3 shows. Uses chairs, lounge, bottles, and other paraphenalia. This is a very skilful and nervy act, clean and clever. Each one of these equilibristic stunts got a good hand. The close was fairly strong, too. All right. MILES & RICKARDS, Fashion Plate Singing Duo:- 14 min. in 1. 3 shows. Man and woman. Good selections of songs and well sung. The dressing of the act is one of its best features. The spoken lines are not especially brilliant nor new, but the act gets by fairly well. MR. AND MRS. PERKINS FISHER, "The Half-Way House.""- 20 min. F. S. 2 shows. This is a very bright little sketch, well written and acceptably presented. They carry their own drop. Good many laughs througout. There is some pathos at the close. Two encores, which shows that they caught the house. LILLIAN MILLS & ELIDA MORRIS, Minstrel Girls:- 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. Sprightly and very well costumed. The songs are for the most part new, and there is plenty of ginger in them. The dancing is not the least feature of the act. The various numbers got a good hand, and the finish was strong, with an extra curtain call. Very nice little act for this place on the bill. JAS. A KIERNAN & COMPANY, "The Taming of the Beast::- 21 min. F. S. 2 shows. Four people in the cast. The theme of the act is not a pleasant one and at times borders on the risque. It deals with the son of a rich man infatuated with an adventuress, who finally wins over the old man by her witchery. There is a lot of "go" in it, but it appeals to the gallery rather than to the orchestra, and the cuts are imperative. In fact, the whole act should be generally toned down. Many laughs throughout, and finish after rousing good song was satisfactory. It will be transposed on the evening bill. Never want to play this act again at this house, as it does not appeal to the class of people who are our patrons. ARGYRO KASTRON, Violiniste:- 10 min. in 1. 2 shows. This is a very beautiful woman with a great deal of talent. Her mistake was in her first selection which was too classic for the mixed audience. However, the selections that followed were strongly applauded. She is certainly an acquisition. Went off to big applause. MY HAT:- Fairly good running comedy. Mr. & Mrs. P. Fisher.....8.03 Mills & Morris....8.23 Sisters Amoros....8:35 Harry Davenport....8.45 Virg. Earl & Co.....8.57 Miss Kastron....9.25 Three Seldoms....9.35 Orpheus Comedy Four....9.45 Tony Wilson & Heloise....10.05 Kinetograph....10.15 10.30.
