2.- WHITE & SYMMONS, "Get in de Band Wagon":- 18 min. in 1. 2 shows. These people got a strong advance hand, as they are so well and favorably known here. The material was of the ancient minstrel order. The work is good. The comedy of White is almost of the order of genius. The laughs were frequent. This act will always pull well. Closed strong. MARIE WAINWRIGHT, "Our Baby":- Supported by Frank Sheridan:- 22 min. F. S. 2 shows. Miss Wainwright makes a very pleasing appearance and promises something that alas! she does not fulfil. She did not get any advance hand, showing that she is unknown or forgotten if she ever was known. Miss Wainwright, if she ever had any personality or magnetism, has lost it long ago, as she is decidedly passe. The whole sketch lacks opportunity. At times it is very weak, and even badly written. There is no spirit or climax in the lines, and there was but one single laugh during the whole feature. The work of Sheridan, her support, is clumsy and forced. Moreover, he was sadly unfamiliar with his lines. The audience was soon on to the fact that he only mouthing a part in which he took only a business interest. Even at the climax, when the dog is brought out (the author's intention being to create a big scream), the incident fell flat. The close was the deadest of any high-class sketch that we have ever had here. These peopl may do something to pull the sketch up for the balance of the week, but I doubt it. It is a distinct disappointment. FIELDS & WOLLEY, "A Trip in an Airship":- 15 min. in 1. 2 shows. These people have a good line of stuff and make the best use of it. They got a good many laughs and some applause. It is much too long, and some of the matter should be out. Dancing at the finish was great, and won the house big. BEDINI & ARTHUR, Juggling and Comedy:- 15 min. F. S. 2 shows. Pretty good advance hand. Bedini did ot seem to be in the best of form to-day, missing repeatedly, but before the close he had himself in good control The blackface work of Arthur brought out a good deal fo merriment which enlivened the act immensely. The finish was good, but not as strong as it will be after they have grasped the sitution a little surer, and pulled up the act to concert-pitch. AURIE DAGWELL, "The Girl who sings the old Songs":- 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. Appears in a black gown and mitre-board in her first selection, afterwards in a very fetching gown of white. She is a pretty girl and sings well. The old songs interested a large part of the audience, though I do not think that she leaves a very decided impression. Closed fairly well. CARON & HERBERT, Original Acrobatic Comedy":- 13 min. F. S. This act is an essential and qualified feature. There is some good acrobatic work which received applause, and some of the comedy was really good, although the greater part of it was of the near-funny order. The closing stunt with the gloves is new comedy that took well on account of its novelty. The close in 1, with the syphon of seltzer is not particulrly bright. Think they will go better after the act is toned down. of the week, we will consider ourselves fortunate. As a winter bill, with packed houses, it would no do, as the press and the public would let us know. It promises to be a light week for business, unless rain should keep in town the people who go to the parks.
