50. New York Criticism--July 26, 1906. ---ooo0ooo--- NOTE: The weather to-day was extremely warm. The show went good in spots. It is quite difficult to get a good line on the performers. It is a genuine Summer bill, minus any big features. JACK & BERTHA RICH: A pleasing little opening act. Man's dancing received a big lot of applause. Could hold down a better place on the bill. 15 min-full stage-closed in one LeDENT: This man does the regulation juggling stunts. The main feature is the juggling of rubber balls. Secured quite a number of laughs by his announcing cards. Pleasing little three-show act. 12 min. in two- MILES & RICKARD: Man and woman. Singing and Talking Comedy. Both have fairly good voices and make a pleasing appearance. Secured some few laughs on the cross-fire conversation. Act is alright for about second on the bill. 14 min. in one- 2 shows GRACE CHILDERS: Young girl of pleasing personality. Opens the act with a song and then goes through a series of contortion and equilibristic work, introducing a dog, which helps her very materially. Act pleased immensely and is thoroughly alright for an early place. 10 min.- full st 3 MARKEY & MORAN: Irish Comedians. Have a lot of new material. Secured quite a number of laughs. 13 min. in one- 3 shows THE KINSONS: This act contains Harry Atkinson and another man named Bates, who is one of the best cornetists we ever had here. Open in full stage with Bates making an apology for his last partner, which serves to introduce Atkinson. Bates keeps up the musical end of it while Atkinson does the imitations,-a repetition of Atkinson's old act, but it pleased. About Two Hundrered would be about right. 16 min.- full stage closed in one about 2 min.- 2 shows BARRY & JOHNSON: Man and woman. Burlesque Travesty. They just about got by this afternoon. Managed to secure a few giggles. Presume the weather had some effect in general. Barry's voice is bad. It is quite difficult to hear him. Woman makes a pleasing appearance and helps the act materially. Act is good in spots. 20 min.-full stage- 2 shows CHAS. HOWARD: Hebrew Comedian. Negoiated this spot in great shape. Has some good material and got the laughs. Closed strong. 12 min. in one stage-closed in one about 5 min 8 ALLISONS One of the best acrobatic numbers we play. 11 min. KINETOGRAPH: "The Prospectors" One the Bowery style. Quite interesting "A Tipster taken for a feel" Very good comey
