51 51 Cleveland Show Week of July 2, 1906. (H. A. Daniels) SISTERS RAPPO -- Russian dances. A very good act. Full of life and action and I would not hesitate to put them anywhere on the bill. 7 min. F. S. HOWARD & HOWARD -- "The Hebrew Messenger Boy and the Thespian" These are two boys of the original messenger boy trio. The messenger boy trio was an awful frost when the act played here on Jan 8th. These two boys seem to have a very good act. They went very well today and received liberal applause for their singing and comedy. Drop in one 16 min. CUTS -- "Wonder where the hell" SADI ALFARABI -- Phenomenal equilibristic wonder. This man is a brother of the Rappo sisters. He is Russian and does equilibristic work using the chairs and pedestals as do most of the performers in this line of work. I think I will place him where the Rappo Sisters are and put them in this spot. 10 min. F. S. CHARLEY CASE -- Black-face monologue. This man is well known. He has played the circuit many times and he now has about the same stuff and the same mannerism that have always been associated with his work. He went quite well in this spot, although his act is not one that calls for much applause at the close. Drop in one 17 min. DAVID M. HARTFORD & CO. -- Farce comedy in one act entitled "My Turn Next" written by Thomas J. Wilson. Four men and three women in the caste. The selection of this sketch proved to be wise. Hartford and his company went much better today than they did last week. The act was written for laughing purposes only and today it surely fulfilled its mission. There was continuous laughter from the start, and the audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy all the impossible situations. Special set. F. S. 35 min. WILLARD SIMMS and EDITH CONRAD -- in "Things I Have Seen On The Stage' This act opens in one, goes to interior in three, and closes in one Simms is giving us about the same line of work that he has always done in vaudeville -- imitations of chorous girls, the matinee idol, prima donna sopranos etc. The audience today did not seem to quite understand him at the start and his first song, "Burlesquing The Matinee Idol" following Hartford's act seemed to be a direct "crack" at Hartford. The audience soon realized that this was not intentional and that it was part of Simms regular act in imitating all classes of artists. A good act but a little suggestive in spots. 20 min. BYERS and HERMANN -- Spectacular Pantomime. Two men. One working as a clown and the other as a skeleton. They carry two sets of scenery, an interior and an exterior. The interior set represents a picture gallery. It is all trick stuff and is work similar to the old Hanlon & act of Fantasma & Superba. The man who makes up as a skeleton is probably the best contortionist I have ever seen. The act seemed to thouroughly please the audience this afternoon for everyone seemed perfectly willing to wait until the end. A very good act. 15 min. two special sets. F. S. KINETOGRAPH -- "The Terrible Kids" A good chasing picture.
