3. MELNOTTE, LA NOLE TRIO, Comedy Acrobatic Wire-Act:- 10 min. F.S. 2 shows. Two men working straight and one eccentric. This is excellent work on the wire, and held the attention of the audience throughout. The comedy introduced relieved the act of any athletic monotony. The various stunts got good applause. The finish was all to be desired. This is a very valuable act. Would make good anywhere in any place on the bill. KINETOGRAPH:- RAJAH'S CASKET:- This is another one of the French "Rooster" series and is about up to that tiresome standard, and not anywhere above it. It is, of ourse, a "running" series, and the finish is good. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF TRAINS:- Rather dull, O.K. feature five years ago, but outclassed now. THE HOLIDAY:- Another one of these French pic tures with the inevitable kid, though happily free from all offensiveness. Will please the children. KINETOGRAPH feature this week just about gets by, but takes no bouquets for originality or sustaining interest. CARROLL BROTHERS Substituted for DALY & RENO:- 12 min. F. S. 3 shows. One man working eccentric and the other straight. Use table, rubber ball, chairs and other material. Act is merely an imitation of others done here before, and the comedy of a lower order. Received small hand. Act includes burlesque sight-reading stunt which did not make any impression. Just about gets by. ALEXANDER, Phenomenal Soprano:- 10 min. in 1. 3 shows. Man certainly has a phenomenal voice, and did he not show himself to be of the masculine gender at the finish, would not have made much of an impression. However, he managed to hold his own in the place selected for him. GENERAL REMARKS:-This show is a peculiar one, and difficult to rearrange to the best advantage. It has a surfuit of material of a certain order,-music and dancing for instance, and shy on humor. THE COLONIAL SEPTETTE went so much stronger and held the interest so much better than the EDWARDS' act that it was transposed to give the show a brilliant finish as the acts which followed it this afternoon suffered by contrast. MELNOTTE, LA NOLE TRIO being a wire-act could very well go further up the bill to save that section. The rearrangement will give much stronger show-values with the same material. The most careful watch on every word and act in the show failed to note a single cut. This was a pleasant relief, and shows the general high standard of the bill throughout. The time-sheet as it stands, is as follows:- The Carrolls . . . . 6.33 Alexander . . . . 6.45 J. & B. Rich . . . . 6.55 O'Loughlin & Cohen . . . . 7.11 Keith's Orchestra . . . . 7.25 Barry & Johnson . . . . 7.25 Le Dent . . . . 7.45 Stanley & Wilson .. . . 7.53 Three Hickmans . . . . 8.10 Edwards' Boys & Girls . . . . 8.25 Edwin Stevens . . . . 8.47 Melnotte, La Nole Trio . . . . 9.15 J ack Norworth . . . . 9.25 Colonial Septette . . . . 9.45 Kinetograph. . . . . 10.10 10.30 has been provided for, their decision stood. There is abundance of show to make up for any such shortage. They closed themselves. so there is no comeback. C. E. B.
