61 Cleveland Show Week of July 2, 1906. (H. A. Daniels) WILLIAM ALEXIS & DELLA SCHALL-- Singing and dancing and contortion act by a man and a woman entitled "The Happy Pair". The man's contortion work is the best thing in the act. His comedy is very bad. The woman has little to do. Drop in one 12 min. CHARLOTTE TOWNSEND, LOUIS ALBION, and FREDERICK KERBY-- Sketch entitled "Elsie's Mistake". These three people are three member of the stock company who were not to appear in Hartford's sketch later on the bill "Elsie's Mistake" is one of the fifteen cent book plays. The joke about the play is that it is the same act that Josephine Cohen played here earlier in the season entitled "Friday the 13th". This sketch was written by Fred Noble and Will M. Cressey. "Elsie's Mistake" was written and played when Fred Niblo was wearing knickabockers. The three members of this stock company presented the sketch much better than did Miss Cohen and the difference in the salaries is about $400 per week. C. D. F. in 3 18 min. JOHN GEIGER & NELLIE WALTERS-- A man and a woman in a musical novelty "In the Streets of Italy". These people carry a hurdy-gurdy which is played by the woman while Mr. Geiger uses his violin and does practically the same act that he used to do with the exception that he now wears an Italian costume. Much to my surprise this act was an awful hit. It seemed impossible for the audience to get enough of their music. I shall want them again next year. Drop in one. 15 min.
