3. WALTER JONES & MABEL HITE, Musical Comedy sketch:- 22 min. F. S. Close in 1. 2 shows. this is an incoherent sketch, but it cramful of spirited fun. The laughs were constant. Miss Hite is a real little genius of humor. Everything that she does is genuinely funny. The sketch could be longer and still win. Jones as the Irishman advertising for a wife was very funny. These people are A.1. for this headline spot. The act received five curtain calls. THE FOUR BARDS;-10 min. F.S. This is certainly a great feature. Their work shows the most amazing and skilful training and plays off better than any acrobatic act, that we have had here for a very long time. Everyone of the men looks the part of the gentleman-athlete. Each feature was a surprise. The hands they got were immense as they well deserved, and the finish was a perfect whirlwind. KINETOGRAPH, ROYAL SPANISH BULL FIGHT:- Reported on last week. Held over. Went as strong as ever. BOSTOCK'S TRAINED BEARS,-A very good film on a popular subject. THE THREE MADCAPS:- 12 min. F.S. 3 shows. Substituted for the WIORA TRIO. It was unfortunate that we were forced to have this old stock feature in place of the other which we needed, but the act went fairly well. They have new costumes which give them a good presentation. AL COLEMAN, Dialect Comedian:- 10 min. in 1. 3 shows. An entertainer of the after-dinner order. Some of his dialect stories got a little applause, but on the whole it merely filled in time. Passable in the three-a-day section. GENERAL REMARKS:- This is a good show. We are very glad to have a bill of this kind after one like last week, which was rather severely criticized, but which did not deter us from having splendid houses all the week. As soon as the show gets to running smoothly we ought to have good comment, as we are advertising strong and have billed this week as a sort of "Fall Opening", seeing that it looks like such an early season for us. The cuts which had to be made on COAKELY & MCBRIDE were particularly flagrant and offensive. By referring to cuts from Boston and New York, we find that they cut out several things, but their substitutions were even more vulgar and worse than the matter formerly eliminated. One or two things were actually not even fit to be in print. Nothing was changed on the bill as to time, as it was found to play off O K. The following is the time-schedule:- Wiora Trio...6:30 Al Coleman...6:40 Frederic...6:53 Lester & Quinn...7.05 Saona...7:15 Keith's Orchestra...7.29 Doherty's Poodles...7:35 Merri Osborne...7.50 Coakley & Mc Bride...8.02 E.R. Philips...8.20 Royal Wedding Pictures...8:42 Selbini & Grovini...8:52 J. S. Gilbert...9.02 W. & W. Glee Club...9:20 Jones & Hite...9:42 Bard Brothers...10:04 Kinetograph...10:15 10:30
