81 Cleveland Show Week of July 23, 1906 (F. H. Brandt.) JOHN & BERTHA RICH-- Comedy singing and dancing duo. A man and woman. Their comedy and singing is only fair nut what they lacked in this they made up in their dancing. The act closed very strong with good applause. C. D. F. 12 min. COLUMBIA COMEDY FOUR-- Dealers in harmony and fun. Four men in character, sailor, dude, German and American. The singing of this act went very good, but their comedy was dragged out so that it made the act lag. Nevertheless they finished very strong and had to take an encore. 25 min. Drop in one. LEDENT-- Comedy juggler. This man started in by missing three of four tricks before he got down to his real work. His best work is with the billiard balls starting with four then five, six, seven, eight, and nine. He tried to do it with ten but couldn't make it. The act seemed to please very much. Conservatory drop in two 12 minutes. JOHN STANLEY & GRACE LEONARD-- A Few Vaudeville Ideas. Talking and singing imitations. Mr. Stanley gave imitations of George Cohen and Eddie Foy, which were very good and went very well with the audience. Miss Leonard sang several character songs which were very good. Took two bows at tonight. Drop in one 15 minutes. DAVID M. HARTFORD & CO-- Presenting "Hearts" A comedy in one act by W. Echard Golden. This little sketch is a good deal on the order of "Sunset". Very quiet and refined. The audience this afternoon seemed to enjoy it very much as the company received four c curtains calls and Mr. Hford was compelled to make a speech. F. S. Special set 25 min, AURRIE DAGWELL-- The Girl who sings the old songs. This act went very well which it always does in Cleveland. Too well known on circuit for any comment. Drop in 12 min. FARRELL TAYLOR TRIO-- Comedy musical sketch. Two men and a woman. One of the men collored [colored]. This act without a doubt was the hit of the show as the audience screamed from start to finish. There is more comedy and singing with the act than music. C.D.F. 17 minutes. Close in one 7 minutes including encore they had to take. MELLNOTTE LANOLE & MELLNOTTE-- Novelty comedy wire performers. Three men, two straight one as clown. This is a very good wire act, but has very little comedy. They seemed to hold the audience very well until finish considering that the show was running very late today. F. S. Wood. 10 minutes. KINETOGRAPH--The Life of a Cowboy. This is a very good picture it held the audience until close. Very few going out which they do as a general rule when the show runs late. COMMENT-- Today being a kind of new holiday for Cleveland called "Cleveland Day" which brought out a holiday audience and gave us a very good house. The show went very well and as all the acts received encores it made the show run about 15 minutes over.
