89 TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH. AUG. [29? 20?], 1906 SA-VAN & MCBRIEN-Formerly Charles and Minnie Sa-Van. This comedy acrobatic act is all right for an early spot. 15 min. FS. DANCING MITCHELLS-Man and woman in a sort of a whirlwind dancing act. Just a fair act. 11 min. FS. Their close in one is so short as to be useless. LUCE & LUCE-Man and woman in a fair musical act. Will never be worth very much money. 16 min. FS. 4 min. in one. EUGENE O'ROURKE & NELLIE ELTINGE-Presenting the old sketch "Parlor A." Made a fine impression. 24 min. FS. MME. NORMA ROMANO-Grand opera soprano. Large woman of heavy features, in Italian selections. Has a great voice which she knows how to use in heavy numbers. Was well received. 15 min. in one. PAPINTA-This myriad and fire dancer is all alone in this line of work, and appeared to fine advantage. 16 min. FS. COAKLEY & MCBRIDE-Good blackface act but must be given a talking to before going on. Cut "cats-as-trophe," and the lines relating to the peek-aboo waist, and those relating to the triplets that looked like sticks of licorice in a bowl of ice cream. 2 min. in one. BRISTOLS PONIES-Act consists of six ponies, a bay horse and a mule. All are well trained and made good. Fine act for the money. 15 FS. KINETOGRAPH-Three subjects. Not worth writing for.
