90 Cleveland Show Week of August 27th, 1906. (H. A. Daniels) BEN BEYER-- Comedy bicyclist and unicyclist works in tramp make-up. This man has a good act for an opener. He offers many tricks that are old and quite a number that are new. I consider it an exceptionally good act for the money. F. S. 11 minutes. KINETOGRAPH-- "The Smugglers" A chasing picture used to set Luce & Luce because Ben Beyer does not close in one. Very good film. LUCE & LUCE-- Man and woman in a straight musical act. I billed this as a comedy musical act, which is wrong. They play the musical rattles and the aluminum chimes with the other instruments that are common to musical acts. As Cleveland is the home of this team and as they had many friends in the audience the act went probably better than it would in some other town. C.D.F. in three. 18 min. Close in one. WALLACE TRUEMAN-- Tramp Juggler. This is the fellow that did the comedy with the Agoust family. He juggles a variety of articles. He combines cleverness with accuracy and speed and altogether they make a good combination. Considering the price of the act I would consider it a good bargain. He held down this spot on the bill in excellent shape and in another season will probably be able to get as much applause as Herbert Lloyd or Harrigan. F. S. 15 minutes. Close in one. MARIE WAINWRIGHT assisted by FRANK SHERIDAN-- Comedy sketch "Our Baby". Unlike a great many of the legitimate actors that enter vaudeville these people really made good. The sketch is one that appeals to the front orchestra and the boxes. It really consists of a clever dialogue - as clever in spots as any that Clyde Fitch was ever guilty of writing. The whole audience seemed to enjoy the act, and the comedy in spots is excellent. For a high priced act it is the best bargain I have ever had in this house. C.D.F. in three 25 minutes. INTERMISSION-- Ten Minutes. O'BRIEN HAVEL assisted by EFFIE LAWRENCE-- Sketch "Ticks and Clicks" This is O'Brien and Havel's old act. This billing should be as above and not O'Brien & Havel. This sketch is well-known on the circuit. From an applause stand-point it was the hit of the show today. A very good act. Cut-- "Cock-eyed Mulligan" C.D.F. in three 25 minutes. LILLIAN SHAW-- Vocal and dialect comedienne. This little girl surely made good in this spot. She gave a German, and Italian, and a Hebrew song and closed with an imitation of Katie Barry. The audience did not want to let her go. A very good act. Drop in one 16 min. BRISTOL'S PONIES & HORSES-- This troupe consists of one horse, six ponies and the kicking mule, Maud. About the same line of stuff that all of these animal acts present. Good closing act. F. S. 15 minut
