94. PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE AUG. 27th, 06. MARION & DEAN-3 shows. Singing, dancing and talking. 14 min. Olio. Does very well among the three shot acts. CHALK SAUNDERS-3 shows. Cartoonist. 9 minutes-olio in one. Does very well-would be much better if he dressed neatly. SELBINI & GROVINI-Garden-10 minutes. Bicycle riding, juggling and tumbling This is a good act and quite a novelty. They are going very well. MITCHELL & CAIN-15 minutes, street in one. Singing and talking act. This act is going very well with us. Mir. Mitchell is inclined to be a little rough; we made several cuts and after the first show they went very big. It consider it a good act. WM. ROCK & CO. In a one act musical fantasy entitled "Thebe". Open full stage-2 special sets. There are ten people in this act, nine girls and Mr. Rock, whose singing is only fair. Mr. Rock came to us with a lot of black drapery which he used in his first number, which leads one to think they are going to do black art. After the first performance I asked Mr. Rock his reason for having the drapery and he could not show me any. We cut it out and I think it helped the act considerable. They are not worth the money and will just get by, surrounded by a good bill. QUINLAN & MACK-18 minutes, special drop This act repeated its success of last season, which was very good. HENRY & VAN ALSTYNE-18 minutes, opening full stage, garden; closing in one 8 minutes.-Introducing Miss Henry in imitations of Sal Skinner and Edna May. Mr. Van Alstyne-piano playing. Miss Henry's imitation of Edna May singing the Canoe song goes very big and I consider it very good. The work of Mr. Van Alstyne is also good. This is their first appearance here together and they are one of the hits of the bill. MR. & MRS. PERKINS FISHER-In "The Half Way House". 19 minutes, interior carrying special drop. This is the first time in two years that we have played this act and it is going fully as well as on their first presentation. WELCH, HEALY & MONTROSE-20 min. Street in one in their acrobatic novelty "Play Ball", introducing a little acrobatic work and travesty on a ball game, which I consider very funny. It is going big with us. PROF. ALLINI and his monk, "Peter the Great". 14 min. Garden. This is a wonderful monkey, performing on the trapeze and several other tricks which I consider better than anything else I have ever seen in a monkey act. The act is a good one and will cause considerable talk. SEYMOURS DOGS-3 shows. 18 min. A very fair act for the three a day section. ARCHER & CROCKER-Comedy acrobats. Garden. About as good as the usual run of acrobats doing three shows. RAY COX-13 min. in one. Olio. Miss Cox if doing fairly well for us. I think the act would be much improved if she would eliminate the attempted dancing.
