105 ---(2)---- MABEL SINCLAIR: The Jury sanctioned this woman as a wonderful ventriloquist, although her voice is very weak, while her material is entirely English, some of the jokes falling flat. This can be easily remedied by work. She finished, however, to big applause. 14 min. in two - 2 shows. THE GEMS: Second Week. Described in previous criticism. The show down to this point was rather quiet, thereby giving the Gems an excellent opening for their second week.. The result was that all of their material went good. Act was appreciated throughout with big applause on the finish, which necessitated them taking three bows, and I think it is safe to say that they went stronger than last week. 12 min. full stage CLAIRE BEASY: Young woman of pleasing personality giving an exhibition on the style of "Techow." The general makeup and appearance of this act is as good and quite novel. The cats are fairly well trained and gave quite a good performance, but not as strong as "Techow." 12 min-full st JACK WILSON & CO: 2 men and a woman in blackface. In the singing and talking comedy:- "An Upheavel [Upheaval] in Dark Town." Comedy consists of Albert Green and Ada Lane. Albert Green made a big hit on his parodies and is really the back-bone of the act. Opened rather tame. Woman in the act does not amount to much. The two men are thoroughly alright. Lines are exceptionally bright, but rather broad. Act in its entirety is rough. In this week's program, they are fully capable of holding down this place and were easily the laughing hit of the show. 19 min. in one HOUDINI: Second Week. Big advance applause. Presented the same act as last week. He was watched with great interest throughout with some applause after the hand-cuff work and trunk mystery. Closed with an exhibition of freeing himself from the strait-jacket, which went very strong. 34 min. KINETOGRAPH: "Grand Prize Motor Races" Good "Pals, or my Friend the Dummy" Excellent comedy
