107 TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH., SEPT. 10, 1906. THE BALZERS. Acrobats working with a tramplin [trampoline]. This act is fully up to the average acts of this kind. 7 min. FS. SHARP BROTHERS. Hard shoe dancing, and singing act in blackface. Very good act and closed to strong applause. 13 min. in one. TENBROOKE, LAMBERT & CO. Presenting "Prof. Schmalz Academy." Excellent comedy and musical act. Last in Detroit with a burlesque company. 20 min. FS. THEY DO NOT CLOSE IN ONE. LE BRUN GRAND OPERA TRIO. Presenting in English scenes from "Il Trovatore." All have excellent voices and as the act is nicely costumed it went very strong. Open with a prison drop in two. Close FS. 11 min. TAYLOR HOLMES. This story-teller is very good but should cut out his Irish dialect as it is very bad. He closed strong with James Whitcomb Riley's recitation "Good Bye Jim." 14 min. in one. JULIUS STEGER & CO. Presenting "The Fifth Commandment." This is a very strong musical-dramatic playlet, with room for improvement. His support is very good but a younger woman should replace Helen Mar Wilcox in the part of the daughter, and Steger should appear less prosperous looking. 29 min. FS. FRED RAY & CO. Presenting "Roman Travesty." Much improvement is noticed in this act, but the ludicrousness of the whole is marred by the giggles and chuckles of the support. It would be a scream all the way if the whole act was carried out seriously. 17 min. in one. TWO SISTERS O'MEER. The daintiest and prettiest tight-wire act we play. 8 min. FS. KINETOGRAPH "Kathleen Mavourneen." A complete Irish drama is given and its proved decidedly novel and interesting.
