108. Cleveland Show Week of September 10th, 1906. (H. A. Daniels) QUIGG ) MACKEY & NICKERSON-- Three men. Comedy musical act similar to the Waterbury Brothers and Tenny these three men working the same. The comedian with this team is not as strong as he might be. The act got by all right in this spot, the cornet solo work of Mr. Nickerson being excellent. C.D.F. in 3. Close in 1. 16 minutes. MARY DUPONT & CO-- Sketch "Left At The Post." Miss Dupont is supported by a man and the support is not as strong as it might be. The sketch has to do with a girl who thought she was jilted and decided to marry the first man who presents himself even though she held him up at the point of a revolver. There is a little good comedy in the act, but the finish fell flat today and Miss Dupont went off with hardly a hand. Cut:- "My God I don't know where I am shot." CDF - 15 m. BERT MARION & SABEL DEANE-- A man and woman in singing and talking act. Positively the weakest act that has been on this stage in three months. I would put them up to open the show were it not that it would cause a wait. The girl's singing is very bad. I did not expect a great deal of the act considering the money they are getting but I expected a whole lot more than they had to offer. It is a fact that 9/10's of the audience were giving the girl the laugh during her entire song. Their cross-fire talk at the close of the act is the best thing they do. Drop in one. 11 minutes. EGBERT VAN ALSTYNE and LOUISE HENRY-- Val Alstyne is the author of "Cheyenne", "Navajo," "In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree," etc. He offers a little trick piano playing while Miss Henry does some character work. The work of both of them is excellent. Their act was probably the hit of the show from an artistic stand-point. The audience seemed to greatly appreciate Miss Henry's character work. Open F. S. close in one. 20 minutes. SISTERS MEREDITH-- these girls sang some character songs in costume. Dutch, Spanish, Chinese and Indian. They closed with a song in velvet knickerbockers. While they have an excellent act it is not worth the money they are getting. After their last song they went off with very little applause. The audience had tired of them and they had not given value for MRR. Open in 1 two special sets in 2 1/2 close in one 12 min. WILL ROGERS-- The Lasso King. Rogers is assisted by a man and a horse. He offers an excellent act that is full of novelty and surprise. His wild western "patter" took with the audience and every one of his tricks was liberally applauded. From an applause stand point he was the hit of the show. An excellent act. 16 minutes. F. S. MANHATTAN COMEDY FOUR-- Comedy quartette, taking the characters of Rube, Actor, Irish and Tourist. They do about the same work that all of these quartettes do but close their act with a burlesque of the prison scene from "Faust", which carried them off to very liberal applause. In fact the audience seemed to want more and insisted on it. They had hard work to get away. Drop in one. 15 minutes. FOUR LONDONS-- Four men in an aerial casting act similar to that of the Four Lukens. As far as I can see these men do all the tricks that the Lukens do, and with the same grace and finish. A very good act. F. S. 9 minutes. KINETOGRAPH-- Floral Fiesta in Los Angeles-- Good For sale- An Auto-- A good comedy and chasing picture.
