113 the act, While they went fairly well I think that the act is overpaid. 20 min. open in 3, close with about 5 min. in 1, 2 shows. Four Nightons. I was completely led astray on this act. I had the impression that it was a "posing" act like the Three Seldoms instead of which they simply opened with a little posing, and made no attempt to pretend that it is statuary; the rest of their act is athletic and muscular and is very nice indeed and made a hit with last night's audience. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Matthews & Ashley. These men got more applause on their entrance than it did at the finish and the middle of the act sagged materially. The entire opening of their act is the same as they have given us for two years past, they have a new parody at the finish on "Nobody" which went very well indeed. They claim to have a new act but say Mr. Albee doesn't want them to play it, preferring the old one and I guess that had better wake up or I don't want them again until they have something new. 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. The Gems. an English act of singing and dancing which is full of life and snap and very prettily presented. It is rather indescribable and I am sure it pleases the better class of patrons, altho I am inclined to believe it is rather overpaid. 12 min. full stage, 2 shows. Elinore Sisters. This is unquestionably the hit of the show. They have considerable new stuff and some old material. They got big advance applause, and had them laughing all through, strong at the finish. 21 min. in one, 2 shows. Berzac's Circus. This man has cut down his act some from last year, in the opening Pony part and I don't believe there is as much work done on the unridable Donkey as last year. While the riding was going no, however there were screams of laughter and big applause for the work on the revolving table. 12 min. full stage, 3 shows. Kinetograph. "Scenes at West Point"---Rather interesting. "A Glutton taken for a Thief"---Fair comedy pictures. "Olympic Games at Athens"---Good. "An Evil Day"---Very funny.
