Phila. 3. BARRY & HALVERS, Eccentric Duo:-18 min. F.S. close in 1. 2 shows. On at 3:30--9:00. Man and woman. Barry takes the tramp part, Miss Halvers works straight. There is lots of ginger in this act. The singing is good and lines likewise, with many laughs. The songs are amusing and were well received. The close of the F.S. included an imitation of Fred Stone in the costume of the "scare-crow" which quite took the house. In the finish in 1 Miss Halvers appears in a very stunning dancing costume and the singing and dancing got a big hand. Closed with two curtain calls. CLARIE BEASY, and Cats:- 12 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 3:50 --9:20. This is not a big act, but it is very clever. Miss Beasy makes a good appearance and her stage paraphernalia is all that could be desired. The cats worked a little slow at first to-day, but the act worked up to a very good finish. The cats do various stunts, such as, tight-rope walking, jumping, and performing various evolutions. The act shows an infinite amount of patience in the training and was particularly pleasing to the women and children. The finish when gloves are put on two of the cats and they put up a lively fight, got a round of applause. Think this feature will go better after the felines get into working trim. GEORGE EVANS, Blackface Monologue:-(3rd week) 25 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 4:02--9:32. Big advance applause. New line of stuff which went just as big as ever. Think he will hold the interest throughout the week. BAKER QUINTETTE, Bicycle Troupe:- 13 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 4:27--9:57. Comedy Cyclists. Four men and one woman. three of the men work eccentric. A very acceptable closing feature on any bill. Although the acrobatic work is not startling or novel, it is up to the required standard and the comedy is all to be desired. Held interest of audience to a very good finish when the five performers leave the stage on one wheel. this act was called in to play after seeing the deficiencies of our Monday show and did their first work Tuesday night. KINETOGRAPH:-The first series of Kinetograph pictures which we had were very poor, and these were substituted.:- FRENCH SOLDIERS CROSSING A RIVER;-Very interesting and full of action and life. HOW THE OFFICE BOY SAW THE BALL GAME:-One of the best comedy films we have had for some time. Altogether the KINETOGRAPH feature is O.K. and holds the audiences to the end. CHRIS SMITH and the JOHNSONS, Colored Comedians:-18 min. F.S. close in 1. 3 shows. On at 5:00--6:30. Two men and a woman. These people work hard to amuse, but do not succeed above the average of the 3-a-day section. In fact, they just about hold their own. The selections of songs is good, and the singing is fair. The comedy brought some scattered laughs, mainly from the gallery. Close was fair. GENERAL REMARKS;- Bill as revised runs smoothly and well, although there is too much blackface, coon and dancing, and too many acts,--seven in all,-that do 12 minutes or less, making time very short. With present shift and the audition of BAKER TROUPE will hold the crowd O.K. for balance of week.
