(Carl D. Lothrop) Boston Show, Week of Sept. 24, 1900. De Faye Sisters. On at 1 o'clock, 15 min in 2. Can work in 1 or full stage with close in 1. Neat musical act; the girls are pretty, young and dress well. While they are not great instrumentalists, still they are 0 k as a 3-a-day. Might get by at number one or two in the 2-a-day houses. Sadie Jansell. On at 1.15, 16 min in 1. Imitatione of stage favorites, Maude Adams and Vesta Tilley among then. She did fairly well but is not a marvel by any means. Prof. Dubois and his human Monkey "Adam". On at 1.31, 11 min full stage. This monkey is a wonder. He works very easily and naturally; would be succerssful in a much harder place on the bill. A great act fir the children. St. John & Le Fevre. On at 1.42, 12 min 1. They have a novel opening in their act, a song illustrated in action. it is a pity that Le Fevre is not able to sing as well as he can dance, for is he could this act would surely be getting twice the money they are today, as I consider Miss St. John as possessing more than averuge ability as a soubrette. Orth & Fern. On at 1.54, 14 min in all, opening 8 min full stage, closing 6 min in 1. The best act of our 2-a-day section this week. they went very well indeed and are well worth their money. Some day the man who does the messenger-boy will get a partner as olever as he is, and we will have an act in 1 that will be worth double this present act.
