128 Cleveland Show Week of October 8, 1906 (H. A. Daniels) R.P. MURPH & BLANCHE ANDREWS-- Man and woman. Singing and jokes. The act is only fair. They continually waited for applause that was not forth coming. A theater playing two shows a day should have a full stage sight act for an opener if possible. This spot has been neglected of late and the result is that the shows open badly. Drop in one. 17 min. MAREENA NEVARO & MAREENA-- Three men. Acrobats and equilibrists. Two of the men work straight and the other comedian. An excellent act. F.S. 10 minutes. RAY COX-- Southern Dialect Comedienne entertaining with songs and stories. This girl is an artist. She has improved 100% since I last played her. For this house she is as good a card as Nora Bayes, and there is quite a difference in the salary. A very good act Drop in one. 10 minutes. MAY EDOUIN & FRED EDWARDS-- They are playing the same old sketch they have always played entitled "A Bachelor's Dream." This act has long ceased to be a feature. It managed to hold the interest of the audience for about one half the time it was on the stage. Miss Edouin's character work is good. The audience seemed to loose [lose] interest toward the end of the act and it closed to very little applause. C.D.F/in 3 24 minutes. POLK, KOLLINS & THE CARMEN SISTERS-- Two men and two women. Straight banjo work. A very good act of the kind. Managed to hold down this spot today in excellent shape. Drop in one. 10 minutes. "THE CRICKETS"-- Norman Seymour, soprano and W. N. Gripps tenor. A girl act with electrical effects. There should be eight girls in the act, but they were one girl shy today and this fact balled up the drill and made the letters on the back of the knapsacks come wrong. It is a good lively singing and dancing act and is probably as good for this house as any of the girl acts that have been along here. They carry special scenery. F.S. 18 minutes. FRED RAY & CO.-- Roman Travesty. Mr. Ray carries a special drop and is assisted by a short fat girl and a tall lean man. He has improved his old act and his offering today was entirely new to a Cleveland audience. The act is away from the beaten path and the majority of those present seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Special drop in one. 18 minutes. THE FOUR HARVEYS-- Two boys and two girls with a lady overseer. This wire act to my way of thinking is as clever as that of the Holloway Trio or the Carmen Troupe. This afternoon's audience seemed to think so and their applause voted it an excellent act. F.S. 12 min. KINETOGRAPH--Kathleen Mavoureen-- Good The Tenant's Revenge--Good.
