Everhart. There is no denying that Everhart is the best man in his class, but like Ring acts, an awfully lot of it has been seen and I doubt whether the audience realizes how much more skillful he is than the rest. One thing is certain, he failed to make a big hit and left the stage and didn't get enough applause to bring him back for a bow. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Nora Bayes. I am not going to say that Miss Bayes is not clever, as I can see where she is much better for New York than she is in provincial cities, but I am going to say that she isn't worth anything like the salary we are paying her for Providence, no matter what may apply anywhere else, and that was proven by the way she went with to-day's audience. She got barely any applause at all, for her first two songs; got a number of laughs for her second one, with a big hand at the end of that song to which she sang an additional verse and went off without any demand for her return. If an act going that way is worth $300. I will have to admit that I am no judge of acts. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. Mary Dupont & Co. In an exceptionally bright little sketch called "Left at the Post". Well played and well received. Exceptionally good for the money. 15 min. full stage, 2 shows. Rialto Comedy 4. These men have almost a straight singing act, one of the men does a "rube" comedian and he is very clever indeed - in a quiet way. Held down this spot in a perfectly satisfactory manner. 17 min. in 1, 2 shows. A Night in English Vaudeville. This is our "life-saver." I like this act much better than the "Karno" act which I saw in New York. They got laugh upon laugh - while there wasn't a great deal of applause at the finish of the act, the number of laughs that they got throughout demonstrated the value, and because of its novelty I feel it will be worth the money with the number of people it will draw. 25 min. full stage, 2 shows. Motion Pictures. "Grand Prize Auto Race". Location not given, but would judge from picture it was foreign. Good spectacular film. "pals," or "My Friend, the Dummy", good comedy picture.
