2.-Phila. KREMKA BROTHERS, Acrobats:- 12 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 8:25. These people are among the best ever. Both show European training in their work, and the act is interspersed with comedy which makes it particularly pleasing. As this is their first appearance in America they missed some of their best balancing tricks, but they gave the audience enough to prove themselves A.1 for any Vaudeville bill. Work only with mat, table and chairs. One works straight and the other in bellboy costume. Many of their feats are absolutely new and all good. Close was big for an athletic feature. CLARICE VANCE, Southern Singer:- 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 8:37. Big advance applause. Well known on the Circuit. Very popular here and all her songs, (some of which have been heard before) received big applause. Miss Vance could hold any spot on the bill, and is one of the most valuable acts in 1 in the whole range of Vaudeville. One encore and several curtain calls, at last compelling a speech. MRS. LANGTRY, "Between The Nightfall and the Light":- 17 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 8:48. Received some advance applause as usual Criticized last week. Received the best attention throughout, and made about the same finish as she did before. Advance sale not so large as last week, but still think she will draw well. FRED RAY & COMPANY, "A Roman Travesty":- 17 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:05. This is one of the funniest burlesques in Vaudeville. There is a laugh in every line, and it is beautifully costumed. Ray is assisted by a beautiful young woman who is costumed in white. Louis Benton, who also assists in the act, is one of the tallest and thinnest comedians on the stage, and provokes a laugh by his very poses. Fun was constant throughout the act, and the close was strong. Usually burlesques on Shakespeare are either vulgar or very tame This one is neither. It contains some mighty good acting and can well be considered one of the most valuable acts in one that we have. IMMENSAPHONE, Musical:- 13 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:22. This is an interesting novelty and offers several selections of good music, The audience has no illusions about the mechanism of the thing, for it is only a mystery in name. for that reason the preliminary spiel is all foolishness. It seemed to please all parts of the house, however, and made a big finish. LEW HAWKINS, Blackface Monologue:- 18 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:35. Very well known here. Sang some new songs, and got off a line of jokes and stories which the audience liked hugely. Big applause to a strong close. GILLETT'S DOGS, Animal-act:- 17 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:53. A very good animal-act and strong enough for a closer. The dogs are remarkably intelligent and carefully trained. There are about a dozen of them, of various sizes and breeds. Perform several stunts, doing a little play (comedy), and afterwards performing on bells, doing a high jump, and jumping off of a high platform. A good act for the children. section rather weak, but from eight o'clock on there is abundant show for any house. FEJ.
