2.-Phila. RAY COX, Southern Comedienne:- 16 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 8:30. Songs and imitations. Well received. Miss Cox makes a very pleasing appearance, being a tall, though a little ungainly, nevertheless a very beautiful woman, with a very original way. Some of her work is rather uneven, and there were times when she quite lost her audience. But she gathered them back again and closed strong, with a curtain call. One of her songs, "Love me in the Ordinary Way" is a gem, and she sang the old chestnut, "Nobody" in a way that was irresistible, and got a big hand. Close O.K. 3. Phila. GENERAL REMARKS:- This is such a show as we would like to have every week in the year. There is diversity and interest in it throughout, and there is not a weak spot, even in the three-a-day section. All our apprehensions with regard to ARNOLD DALY being roasted by the papers and otherwise condemned for his conduct here when he closed so suddenly at the "Lyric", were without foundation. The press was unanimous in praise of both the play and artist.- There is no possible doubt about the success of this engagement and especially valuable in following LANGTRY, by bringing back many new patrons whom LANGTRY brought to the house for the first time. The weather is ideal and the business accordingly. F.E.J.
