174. NEW YORK CRITICISM, NOV. 19th, 1906. WOOD BROS. Two men in ring act. Very good three show act and got merited applause all through act. The finish of the act is better than most ring acts. 12 minutes, full stage. JUGGLING MATHIEU--- A fair juggling act just about gets by the three show section. 7 minutes in one. FITZGERALD & TRAINOR--- Two men Irish Comedy and straight in songs, dances and piano playing. A good entertaining three show act that got a lot of laughs and applause for the dancing. 18 minutes, full stage. LEILA TAYLOR--- Young woman of fair personality with good Soprano Voice in selections that pleased the audience. Three shows, 11 minutes in one. HENRY & FRANCIS--- Man and woman in songs, dances, and talking. Good entertaining act. Much better than the average three show act and could hold a better place if necessary. The finish is exceedingly funny. 17 minutes in two. Close in one. QUIGG, MACKEY & NICKERSON--- Three men, one colored Comedy and two straight. A high-class musical act that made quite a hit. The comedy is funny and the playing of brass instruments went very well. 19 minutes, full stage. VIOLET BLACK & CO.,--- In "A West Point Regulation." Miss Black and two men. The man who plays the boy over-acts painfully. Miss Black is quite good and looks young and pretty. There are some funny situations in the sketch although the first part drags. 20 minutes, full stage. VILLAGE CHOIR--- Advance applause. These four people made their usual big hit. These high-class singing acts always go big at this house. 17 minutes in 2 1/2, close in one. MULLEN & CORELLI--- Two men, one straight and one comedy in Grotesque tumbling act. This act is a Corker. Their tricks are great, and the comedy is a scream. They carry a trick piano which makes the finish very strong. 11 minutes, full stage. BAILEY & AUSTIN--- Their usual Crazy act that went with yells all through to a great finish. They finished up with four people made up alike. A good closing act. 13 minutes, full stage. MOVING PICTURES--- "In a Steel Foundry." Interesting though rather indistinct. "MOTHER-IN-LAW." Second week for this, the funniest of all films. NOTE--- I changed "Raymond & Caverly" with the "Village Choir" to try and even things up, on account of having so many Comedy teams on the Bill. Insisted on "Juggling Mathieu" doing 10 minutes instead of 7. Lindsay Morison.
