186 NEW YORK CRITICISM--DEC. 3rd, 1906. THE GAGNOUX---Man and woman in Juggling and balancing act that has a great CONTINUED. IMMENSAPHONE--This act got a good hand, but I don't think it worth the money. I went among the audience and from remarks, I found out that the Secret (?) is generally known, and the audience know they are listening to selections played on the Stage. 14 minutes, full stage. STANLEY & LEONARD---Man and woman. Here is a good, and valuable act. Everything they do goes well, and the woman's male impersonation is remarkably good. The act is a big hit. 15 minutes in one. CARLETON MACY & MAUDE HALL---In "The Magpie and the Jay." Three people. Miss Hall is splendid in this sketch, and her Bowery talk made a big hit. The old Woman was also good. Mr. Macy plays an unthankful part well. The sketch is good, entertaining, and well written, and held up this place very well. Miss Hall's blending of pathos and comedy is a rare treat. 22 minutes, full stage. Three Curtains. BAKER TROUPE---Four men and a woman in Comedy Bicycle Act. The principal Comedian is very funny, and they all do some very difficult and new tricks. It is a corking good closing act. I had to cut the "Loop the Loop" part of this act, as we did not have room on the Stage for it, but the finish of the act received a big hand. 13 minutes, full stage. KINETOSCOPE-- "A Difficult Problem." A very amusing Film. "Friendship better than Riches." Very pretty series of pictures colored. "At the Sea-Side." This is one of the best Films we have had. Interesting and very funny. NOTE--The hardest kind of show to work. Three distinct waits that cannot possibly be helped. Acts in one must be scarce. Will try and get Volta to close in one. Lindsay Morison.
