2-Phila. CHALK SAUNDERS, Crayon Artist:- 10 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 8:26. Practically the same as given us here several months ago, at the same time thoroughly appreciated, and winning constant applause for skill and humor. Very good act in 1 that would hold any place on the bill for is novelty. CRESSY & DAYNE, "Grasping an Opportunity":- 21 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 8:38. One of Cressy's best sketches, full of his original humor and delightful touches of rural character. Was listened to with rapt attention and the laughs were frequent. Finished big. Cressy will certainly draw very strong this week. POLK, KOLLINS AND CARMEN SISTERS, Banjoists:- 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. On 8:59. Well known on the Circuit. A banjo quartette hard to beat. Very important for this spot on the bill. The two young women dress very becomingly. The fact that the Holdsworths did a little banjo work in their act did not diminish the interest of the audience here. Closed with two curtain calls. JOHN & LOUIS BOLLER, Cyclists:- 16 min.F.S. 2 shows. On at 9:11. These people are certainly expert.-Their act consists in not only the ordinary cycle feat there are some that are simply astounding, such as somersaults from a high pedestal, cycling on one wheel on tight wire, etc. Every one of their feats got a big hand, and the final one brought the two curtain calls. Placed her on the bill, this act makes a great hit. JULIAN ROSE,Hebrew Mono:- 18 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:27. Well known on the Circuit. Advance applause. Great line of stuff, all delivered with telling effect. Material is new and there is a laugh in every line of it, for he knows how to get the best out of every bit. FInished big. MASTER GABRIEL, "Auntie's Visit":- 30 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 9:45. Has been described from the New York house. Suffice it to say that it was as big a hit here as it will be possible for any such act to be, holding all parts of the house form start to close. The laughs were constant and sometimes there are shouts at the antics of Geo. Ali, the dog, and the clever work of Gabriel. The finish was simply immense. Such applause, and children screaming with delight, is seldom heard in any theatre. It is an act that will certainly be talked about in every quarter of the city, and ought to pack our house for the balance of the week. KINETOGRAPH:- Features this week are duplicates of those in Boston a week ago, and pleased everybody. GENERAL REMARKS:-The last half of the show is certainly immense, but the thre-a-day section is just as certainly weak and trying to an audience that deman good things and usually gets them.People who will have the courage to sit through our supper show this week will be well deserving fo all the good stu that we can give them afterwards.LYLE is a frost,NEWMAN & CO. are a lemon,an VON KLINE & GIBSON must have broken into the 2-a-day with a burglar's jimmy! They certainly looked out of place there, the audience knew it,and what is mo they knew it themselves. When it gets down to about 7:30, the audience begins to sit up and take notice, and thence to the finish it is an ideal Vaudeville bill.Cressy has got this town strong,ELECTRIC CRICKETS are all that have bee said of them, and GABRIEL and GEO.ALI will have juvenile Phila going before : end of the week.Weather is fine and business is immense.GABRIEL will hold receptions after the perf. on the stage on Wed. and Sat. afternoons.
