188 TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH., DEC. 3, 1906. PAUL KLEIST- Very good spectacular novelty musical act, particularly good act for matinee audiences and for teh holidays. Was given a strong hand at the close. 15 min. FS. 3 in one. WYLIE'S CIRCUS- Consists of half a dozen dogs that did not work particularly good at the Monday matinee, but may improve. There are several better dog acts than this. 11 min. FS. WERDEN N& GLADDISH- An illustrated song act with the pictures as the feature. Werden is in Charlie Diamond's class as a singer, but the act as a whole is not to be compared to that of Diamond & Smith. 13 min. in one. THE FOUR FORDS- This dancing act cannot be compared to any other dancing act on the stage for there is no other act that comes anywhere near being as good. It was received as on its former appearance with very marked approval. 13 min. FS. NAT HAINES- This man has never made good in this house, and I am rather proud of the intelligence displayed by the audiences. Haines proper sphere is burlesque where no doubt he would shine. 14 min. in one. MR. & MRS. GARDNER CRANE- Offering their new protean sketch. This is a very good act and held the close attention of the audience. Both Mr. and Mrs. Crane show fine talent in the various characters they portray, and they were given a good hand at the finish. 28 min. FS. NORA BAYES- Miss Bayes made quite a hit with her nonsense song, but her first two songs pleased but mildly. I am of the opinion that she is receiving about $100. too much salary. 13 min. in one. MORRIS CRONIN & TROUPE- This is a very good juggling act and away from all others although their close suggests the act of the Juggling Johnsons and the Five Mowatts, there being five men in the act. 11 min. FS. COMMENT- This show is on the whole a very good one, but I am of the opinion that the Four Fords are the only ones that will be talked about. J. H. Finn.
