1192. Boston Show, Week of Dec. 10, 1906. (Carl D. Lothrop) Arther Fisher. On at 1 o'clock, 12 min, in 1, 3 shows. A very fair mimic, O. K. for an early spot in the 3-a-day section. De Voy & Miller. On at 1.12, 14 min, full stage; can do encore in 1, if necessary; 3 shows. This has the making of an excellent acrobatic act. They are both fine tumblers. One of them does some remarkable feats in high kicking. The comedy is a little crude. Juliet Winston. On at 1.26, 11 min, in 1, 3 shows. I don't care a whole lot for Juliet. She has not very much voice and is very affected in her manner. Could not hold a better position on the bill in this house. German & West. On at 1.37, 17 min, full stage, can close in 1, if required; 3 shows. Well-known on the circuit. They are shy of being a 2-a-day proposition for us, although they undoubtedly make good in an early spot in the smaller houses. Fitzgerald & Gilday. On at 1.54, 15 min; in 1, 3 shows. A very good cross-fire conversation and parody act. Could hold a better spot on the bill. It strikes me that they use quite a quantity of other people's material, whether by permission or not I do not know. The Labakans. On at 2.09, 8 min, full stage. A very clever little black-and-tan dog is the feature of this act. Without the dog the act would simply be an ordinary acrobatic affair, but with the dog it will get by in most any spot. Bound to please the youngsters. Rogers & Deely. On at 2.17, 18 min, in 1. An excellent act of its kind, will make good in almost any bill. Deely is a very clever black-face comedian, and i think will be heard from in the future. He far outranks his partner, whose work is rather stereotyped. Willy Zimmerman. On at 2.35, 25 min; 20 min full stage, 5 min close in 1. The only possible objection that can be made to Mr. Zimmermann's turn is its length. He did 34 min. Monday afternoon, and at that I must confess the audience did not seem to be wearied. However, at the night show I cut out the Hammerstein impersonation as not being of local interest and Mr. Zimmermann now closes with Sousa, making a very strong finish. Sisters Meredith. On at 3 o'clock, 17 min; open in 1 4 min, full stage 8 min, then close in 1, 5 min. A pretty act and goes well with the audience, but I think it is overpaid $100. Two of their drops in 1 are badly painted and could be greatly improved. Hawthorne & Burt. On at 3.17, 13 min, in 1. One of the hits of the show, their eccentric dancing at the finish going particularly big.
